After picking up an eight-match touchline suspension for a tense rant accusing Morocco of inducing referee appointments, Tanzania coach SACKED just one game into AFCON

After receiving an eight-match touchline suspension for accusing Morocco of manipulating referee appointments, Tanzania has fired one game into the African Cup of Nations. Since being banned just one game into AFCON, the East African nation will face Zambia and Congo without their boss Adel Amrouche. Amrouche raged during Tanzania's 3-0 loss to Morocco, which culminated in him being barred from the touchline for eight matches by CAF.
Senegal's crown will be defended in the Ivory Coast as AFCON begins next Saturday, but which Premier League stars will be unable to participate in club action in the coming weeks?

January 3, 2024
AFCON is finally here, following months of rumors over which players will be ruled out of club action for up to four weeks. Following the most recent round of play, the continental tournament will take place from January 13 to February 11, with players having to join their national teams. This year's edition of the Ivory Coast will be held in Senegal, with Senegal as the reigning champions after defeating Egypt on penalties in the 2021 tournament (which took place in 2002).
PSG's issues are nothing like Marseille's... the club is run by ultras, boss Marcelino is suspended after seven games, and the president has threatened legal action against the most outspoken supporters

PETE JENSON: Marseille is a footballer who plays for football, without a boss, and almost without a president; the former president resigned in midweek but there were threats of legal action against the ultras. And all this as Marseille faces a PSG side that has had their worst start to a league season since the Qataris took over in 2011 seeming more like a football team than they have at any other time in the period.
