Life and career

Savadogo was born in Riga on January 9, 1993 to a mother of Latvian and Russian descent as well as a Burkinabé father. She identifies herself as primarily Latvian. She began performing with private tutor Nadeda Buharova at the age of 13. She then went to the Bolder Art and Art School in Riga and secondary school with specialization in flute. She appeared on the Latvian television show Krodzi pie Paula and later competed in Muzikl's banka at age 15. She was also active in Koru kari 3, the Latvian version of Clash of the Choirs, as a member of the Golden Choir.

Savadogo performed well internationally when she appeared in Dziesma 2014, Latvia's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, with the song "I Can Breathe." She debuted in the first semi-finals and then finished fifth in the final. Savadogo also won the Latvian television show Jaun talantu fabrika.

Savadogo, a Latvian Eurovision national selection, was announced as a contender in Supernova 2015 with the song "Love Injected." She qualified in both the second heat and the semi-finals by televote. She was named the champion and represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, which was held on the 22nd of February 2015. On April 8, 2015, Savadogo's debut studio album Inner Voice was released.

Savadogo placed tenth in the second semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, after Israel and before Azerbaijan. She advanced to the final after scoring second with 155 points, marking Latvia's first qualification in seven years. She finished nineteenth in the final, after Poland and Romania. She came in sixth place out of a total of 186 points and three sets of the maximum twelve points a nation can award, ranking second in the national juries rankings and ranking second in the highest 12 points earned. With her appearances, Latvia's best placing ever since 2005 and their fourth best finish ever. She wrote the song "Heartbeat," which was performed by Justs, who represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

During the final of Supernova 2016, Savadogo performed her new song "Fighter" on February 28, 2016. The single's music video was later revealed on April 13.

She also announced that her second studio album, titled Red Moon, would be released in October 2016. She appeared on Golos, the Russian version of The Voice, on her fifth season, but she was disqualified in the knockout round. She joined Polina Gagarina's crew, who also competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in blind auditions. For Lithuanian singer Aist Pilvelyt, who attempted to represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, Savadogo wrote the song "I'm Like a Wolf," but failed to Fusedmarc and placed second. She wrote the song "Still Breathing," which was performed by Samanta Tna in 2020. The artist had been chosen to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, but the concert was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Samanta Tna was instead elected to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, and Aminata's song, "The Moon Is Rising," was written by Aminata.
