Nitin Desai (pictured left and right) was reportedly discovered by employees at ND studios (inset) in Karjat, near Mumbai. The police were rushed to the hospital, but he was declared dead. He was a well-known celebrity in Bollywood, and he received the National Award for Best Art Direction four times in his 20-year career. He is believed to have been living in Maharashtra's Raigad district since 2005, where he opened his 52-acre studio to make films including Farzand and Ajintha. According to the Hindustan Times, Desai had reportedly accepted an insolvency petition against his firm last week and was in huge debt.
