Terrified neighbours of Richard Osborn-Brooks reveal how they sleep next to weapons six years after he stabbed a traveller burglar to death and say he 'vanished' without a trace after death threats

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 4, 2024
Mr Osborn-Brooks (left), who was 79 at the time, stabbed career criminal Henry Vincent (right), 37, with a 12-inch kitchen knife after being terrified when two masked men raided his home (inset) at night in April 2018. He was initially arrested by police on suspicion of murder but was eventually released following a national public outcry after the case became a renowned example of a citizen using self-defence. But despite not facing a life behind bars, Mr Osborn-Brooks and his wife Maureen, who was 77 at the time, were forced to leave their south-east London home of 42 years immediately after the attempted raid. Vincent, who was high on cocaine and heroin at the time of the attack and armed with a screwdriver, came from a large travelling community that police feared could seek retribution on the elderly couple. Now Mr Osborn-Brooks's neighbours have spoken out six years after he and his elderly wife, who was suffering from dementia, were forced to leave without packing their things and go into hiding.

A woman was arrested after a 65-year-old woman was discovered dead at her £1 million 16th century manor house

Lesley Page, 65, was discovered dead at 7.30 a.m. on Monday at Grade Two listed Banyer Hall in Lady's Drove, Emneth, Norfolk's King's Lynn. After police were called to the historic house to announce that the body of a woman had been discovered, the man, who was in his 60s, was arrested on suspicion of murder. On Tuesday, police in King's Lynn were given an extra 36 hours to continue questioning the man at the Police Investigation Centre. However, Norfolk Police Department notified yesterday afternoon that he has now been released under scrutiny, although further inquiries continue.

After finding he would die in prison for the murder of drug dealer Jamie Gao, Roger Rogerson was admitted to a prison in prison

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 13, 2023
In late June, Roger Rogerson was transferred from the aged and frail unit at Long Bay's Long Bay to the prison hospital, three months after the 82-year-old learned he would die in prison. Rogerson, according to reports, had limited use of his arms as well as being disabled from a fall. Rogerson is in the same hospital where his onetime partner in crime, gangster Neddy Smith, died two years ago while serving life for murder. In the award-winning television mini-series Blue Murder (right), Rogerson and Smith's exploits were chronicled.
