Tiger Shroff Career

Career

Shroff was signed by producer Sajid Nadiadwala to make his film debut in Sabbir Khan's action romantic comedy Heropanti in June 2012. He took flexibility training under Ziley Mawai to prepare for the role. Heropanti was a commercial success with a gross of 780 million (US$9.8 million) worldwide and became a HIT film, having been released on May 23rd, 2014 and made on a final budget of 250 million Indian Rupees. He received accolades for his dancing, action sequences, tough physique, and the ability to pull off onerous stunts, but he was also chastised for his acting, appearances, and dialogue delivery. "Tiger has an effect in a number of sequences," Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama said, and that he "scores brownie points in action and stunts." "For the first time," Adarsh said, "he exudes utmost confidence." Subhash K. Jha lauded him for his versatility, saying that "he emotes, he dances, and yes, he can fight." Sweta Kaushal of Hindustan Times disagreed, claiming that his "dialogues coerced" and that "his words do nothing in a given situation." Kaushal said his combat sequences are "admirable" and that he is a "great dancer" despite labeling his appearance "unconvincing." In addition, Anupama Chopra, despite stating that he has actor-like qualities and "really strong screen presence," called his dialogue performance "off." In comparison to a nomination in the 60th Filmfare Awards for Best Male Debut and the IIFA Award for Best Male Debut of the Year (Male) Shroff's portrayal received the Screen Award for Best Male Debut and the IFA Award for Best Male Debut of the Year (Male).

Tiger Shroff's album "Zindagi A Raha Hoon Main" was released in 2015, and it became a big success. It was directed by Ahmed Khan and featured Atif Aslam. Tiger Shroff was praised for his dancing abilities on the album.

In 2016, Shroff reunited with Nadiadwala and Sabbir in Baaghi, which took place against the backdrop of a martial arts academy, as well as Shraddha Kapoor and Sudheer Babu. Baaghi was his first big success, earning 1.2 billion (US$16 million) in foreign markets. Tiger Shroff was praised for his actions, stunts, and muscular physique. "The demonstration Tiger did without the use of a double body is delightful to see," Bollywood Hungama said of his action sequences. In Remo D'Souza's superhero film A Flying Jatt starring Jacqueline Fernandez, he also played a martial arts tutor who gains superpowers. In 2017, Shroff teamed with Sabbir for the third time in the dance film Munna Michael opposite Nidhhi Agerwal. However, both A Flying Jatt and Munna Michael were unprofitable at the box office.

Shroff's Baaghi 2, a spiritual successor to Baaghi starring Disha Patani, reached a turning point in his career and established himself in the industry in 2018. The film, directed by Nadiadwala, portrayed him as a retaliant army officer on a quest for his ex-girlfriend's missing child. Baaghi 2 earned over 1.58 billion (US$32 million) worldwide, surpassing initial estimates, becoming one of the year's best-grossing Bollywood films.

After Baaghi 2's success, Tiger Shroff's album "Get Ready to Move" was released in 2018. The album was also a hit.

Shroff appeared in Punit Malhotra's teen drama Student of the Year 2, his first mainstream romantic drama. It was produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and featured Shroff as the year's Student of the Year and showed a college student who competes in an annual school championship. "The film's singularity," Rajeev Masand of News18 called his role "the film's singular strength." "Tiger Shroff has the film on his well-toned shoulders," Ronak Kotecha of The Times of India said. With a worldwide gross sales of 982 million, the film did a decent job. The hopes were high, but the film itself was still a hit film.

Shroff appeared in Siddharth Anand's action thriller War alongside Hrithik Roshan in October 2019. The film was the year's highest-grossing Bollywood film, and it ranked as Shroff's highest-grossing film of Tiger Shroff's career. In India, the World War II Collection for War was worth 4.75 billion Indian Rupees (US$63 million) and 3.18 billion Indian Rupees nett. War set a new record by releasing more than 5 crore Indian Rupees on the first day of a Bollywood movie in India. The film opened as a huge box office and a blockbuster hit, becoming India's highest-grossing film and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

He appeared in the third installment of Baaghi's Baaghi film series in March 2020, where he reunited with Shraddha Kapoor. The film's collections were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic's closing of theatres, but the film nevertheless soared to the top first day opener and second highest grosser of 2020 with a worldwide collection of 1.3 billion (US$2.2 million) at the box office on the first day.

He was supposed to appear Rambo in the Hindi remake of Rambo, and Siddharth Anand was supposed to direct the film. Since 2017, the scheme has been postponed.
