Richard Neville Dobson (born 23 August 1979) is an English sommelier, restaurateur, and singer.
He is best known for his being a member of the boy band Five.
Personal life
Neville dated and later married Australian model and DJ Emily Scott in 2008. On October 23, 2008, the couple arrived in Henley-on-Thames. Following their wedding and divorce four months later, they moved to Sydney, Australia. Scott announced on June 28th that New South Wales police had withdrawn an interim Approved Violence Order (AVO) for the allegations against Neville until the matter was heard in court. Scott said she had a scar over her left eye that was caused by a glass smashing her. However, the case was dismissed in Manly Magistrates Court on July 30, 2009, and Neville was cleared.
Natasha Hamilton, an Atomic Kitten singer, began dating him in 2013. They announced on April 23, 2014, they were expecting their first child together. Ella Rose, a baby girl from Hamilton, was born on September 23, 2014. In March 2016, Neville and Hamilton split.
Career
He was taken to London by the lure of the stage, and he saw an advertisement in the national newspaper The Stage in 1996, requesting young male singers to audition for a new boy band with "attitude and edge." Neville, J Brown, Sean Conlon, Abs Breen, and Scott Robinson, who had arranged themselves into a group during the audition, were then selected and became Five. Breen used his middle name, but Neville retained his name but changed it to "Ritchie" instead because there were two members named 'Richard' in the band (Abs was born Richard Abidin Breen).
Five will be included in an ITV2 documentary series called The Big Reunion, which was announced on Twitter in 2013. It was revealed in January that the company was looking for a new member to replace Brown and that there was also a disagreement about the organization's name before the show began airing. They then decided to continue as Five, but only the four of them. Ritchie was announced on January 14th that it would be competing in the Channel 4 celebrity skiing competition The Jump finishing in 3rd place on February second. He acted as a replacement for actor Sam J. Jones, who had to leave due to a shoulder injury. Abz Love revealed on Twitter that he had left the group without informing the other members ahead. The band has since remained a three piece (Scott, Sean, and Ritchie), before releasing their latest collection, titled Keep On Movin' - The Best of Five, in February 2016.
Neville immigrated to Australia in 2004 and spent as a sommelier. Four of Five's five original band members reunited in September 2006, minus Conlon. The band formed their first album since its breakup in 2001, but they disbanded again in 2007. Neville was a participant in the second series of Cirque de Celebrité on Sky1 in the fall 2007. In 2012, he opened Guerrilla Bar and Restaurant in Sydney, which attracted skepticism in many publications. In March 2016, the restaurant went into liquidation.
