He is best known for his supporting roles in dramas My Love from the Star (2013) and Doctor Stranger (2014), as well as his leading roles in Bad Guys (2014), Cheese in the Trap (2016) and Man to Man (2018).

Personal life

Park Hae-jin's parents were divorced when he was young and he returned to his mother after 17 years of separation. Park is known as a shoe collector, particularly sneakers. He has confessed to owning more than 1800 pairs of shoes.

Park began his acting career in Famous Chil Princesses, where he received the Best New Actor award at the 43rd Baeksang Arts Awards. He appeared in two critically acclaimed television series, Heaven & Earth with Han Hyo-joo, and MBC's anniversary drama East of Eden. Park appeared on SBS reality variety show Family Outing in 2009, giving him more exposure. He then played a leading role in the KBS youth drama Hot Blood.

Park appeared in the first Chinese drama Qian Duo Marry Remember (Chinese: ), which aired on Hunan television in 2011. The drama attracted 1.5 billion viewers in two weeks, and its broadcast rights were sold to Japan. Park received the 'Asia Star Award' at the 2012 LeTV Awards, making him the first Korean actor to receive the award. Park has appeared in two other dramas titled Another Brilliant Life and Love Relativity. Due to his increasing fame, Lotte Cinema in China named a cinema screen named after him.

He returned to Korea's little screen once more, as he appeared in Seoyoung, My Daughter (2012). The drama attracted the highest-rated Korean drama of 2013 with a peak rating of 47.6%, and Park gained more fame with the public. This was followed by supporting roles in the fantasy romance series My Love From the Star (2013) and medical drama Doctor Stranger (2014). Both dramas were successful in China, catapulting Park into national prominence as a Hallyu actor.

Park appeared in OCN's crime thriller Bad Guys in late 2014. At the 2015 Korea Drama Awards, he was honoured with the KDA Award for his role. Park made his film debut in the romance film Snow is on the Sea with Lee Young-ah in 2015.

Park was the most prominent figure in tvN's Cheese in the Trap, which was derived from the webtoon of the same name. The drama made a huge success in China and captured the top of Weibo's Korean-Japanese TV drama chart with over 1.9 billion viewers. Park saw a rise in success and received more endorsements. At the 2016 Korean Cable TV Awards, he was also named the Best Actor award. Park has been confirmed to reprise his role as Yoo Jung in the film version of the Trap, which was released in 2018.

He appeared in Far Away Love in China the same year as a young businessman who owns a luxury restaurant and falls in love with a destitute woman. At LeTV Entertainment Awards, Beijing, China, he was named 'Male Actor of the Year.' Park's overseas success resulted in him being included on Chinese postage stamps, making him the first Korean to be on Chinese stamps as both regular issue and limited edition. Park would appear in a web drama titled First Seven Kisses for Lotte Duty Free on November 2, 2016.

Park's wax figure was unveiled at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong in 2017. He appeared in JTBC's spy drama Man to Man earlier this year. Despite China's ban on Korean cultural products and celebrities, the drama attracted huge attention in China and was heavily broadcast on local television.

Park was cast in the romance drama Four Men, but it was due to multiple delays and production was postponed due to a contractual infringement.

Park appeared in the romantic comedy comedy Forest as a special emergency response team member in 2020. He was cast in the revenge work drama Kkondae Intern the same year.

Park was cast in the romantic comedy drama In 2021, From Now On, Showtime! As a well-known magician with the ability to detect and communicate with ghosts, he is regarded as a heralded magician who has the ability to see and communicate with ghosts.
