Neeru Bajwa (born 26 August 1980) is a Canadian-born Indian actor, director, and producer associated with Punjabi cinema.
She began working in Bollywood soap operas and Punjabi films in 1998 with Dev Anand's Bollywood film Main Solah Baras Ki and then moved on to work in Indian soap operas and Punjabi films.
She has appeared in Punjabi, as well as some Hindi films and television serials.
Personal life
Rubina, an actor, and Suhail, a boy from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, were born to Jaswant Bajwa and Surinder Bajwa; and Suhail, a brother. Bajwa admits to being a high school dropout who had no interest in studying but was always inspired by Bollywood's glamour, so she moved to Mumbai to fulfill her hopes.
On February 8, Bajwa married Harry Jawandha. In August 2015, the couple had their first child, a girl. Both girls were born in Bajwa in 2020.
Career
Bajwa began working on Indian soap operas in 2005 with Hari Mirchi Lal Mirchi on DD1 before moving to Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani on Zee TV, followed by Jeet on STAR One and then Guns and Roses.
Bajwa appeared in the Punjabi film Saadi Love Story, directed by Dheeraj Rattan and starring Diljit Dosanjh, Amrinder Gill, and Surveen Chawla in January 2013. In the film Jatt and Juliet 2, she starred alongside Diljit Dosanjh, who also broke all previous opening day collection records for Punjabi cinema. In August 2013, Naughty Jatts, her film, was released in which she appeared alongside Binnu Dhillon, Arya Babbar, and Roshan Prince. Critics gave the film mixed praise.
Bajwa debuted as a director with the Punjabi film Sargi, which stars Rubina Bajwa in the lead role alongside Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai. Neeru Bajwa Entertainment is also owned by her mother, who owns a production company. Beautiful Billo, a Bajwa actress and produced film, went on floors in November, where she and her sister Rubina Bajwa will film together. Bajwa is hosting a Punjabi show Jazba, which has been on display since April 2021.
