Lorry-loads of shredded waste was 'regularly' taken to the site at Long Bennington, Lincolnshire, where it was burnt and buried on a daily basis. It is estimated that 11,000 tones was deposited at the site the size of a football pitch over a seven-month period - earning the group around £500,000. Officials believe the clean-up operation will cost a staggering £1.2million. Environment Agency officers spent months gathering intelligence about the site and eventually conducted a raid in April 2020 alongside Lincolnshire Police.
