Nam Gyu-ri Career

Career

Nam was born in Seoul, South Korea, in Seoul. She graduated from Kyunghee University, specializing in theater and film (Department of Theater and Film).

Nam Gyu-ri had breached the terms of her deal by refusing to perform her duties as a member of SeeYa in April 2009; the company also announced that it might take court action against Nam. Although Nam announced that she would return, it was later discovered that the problem could not be fully addressed and Nam was forced to restart. Nam released a statement through her lawyers in which she said she "could not possibly" return to SeeYa after leaving the company indefinitely. Nam explained in the letter that the reason for her resignation was that she was more interested in doing a acting career than singing. She had decided that she wanted to stop working with the organization because it was impossible to pursue both directions. For this reason, she turned down offers from all record companies that were interested in recruiting SeeYa and said she would restart as an actor rather than a singer.

Naming new people, however, she recommenced her singing career as a solo artist just shy of relocating to New York. Nam's current management company, Eyagi Entertainment, has confirmed that she will pursue a solo career in both acting and singing. Despite the fact that Nam said she would not pursue her singing career as a solo artist, she did participate in Ivy's comeback album "I Be."

During the group's promotion of its final album, Nam returned to SeeYa temporarily in 2011. SeeYa officially disbanded on January 30, 2011.

Nam joined SidusHQ, one of South Korea's most well-known recruitment companies, in 2014.

Nam signed with KORTOP Media, a veteran drama maker Go Dae-hwa, in November 2018.

Nam was Kairos' second lead in 2020, playing as both a violinist and a sociopath who was secretly having an affair behind her husband's back while staying as a good wife and mother. She has been praised for her performance as the villain in the film.

Nam joined My Company in May 2022 after her old agency's deal came to an end.
