Marty Scurll Career

Professional wrestling career

Marty began training at Frank Rimer's Dropkixx training academy, which would produce wrestlers like Martin Stone, The Kartel, and Paul Robinson. Marty made his Dropkixx debut at the Fondu Club in Purfleet, defeating Jimmy Starr by two falls to one. Marty competed in the Dropkixx Shooting Tournament under the tutorship of Jon Ritchie, who by this time was in charge of Dropkixx. Scurll would win the middleweight tournament, becoming Dropkixx's first middleweight champion. Scurll used to compete for Summit Promotions regularly, and at the end of the year formed a tag team with Paul Robinson titled 'The Party Boys' (or 'The Midnight Ravers,' as they were often billed).

Scurll will continue to compete for Premier Promotions, and this will be his first match against Phil Powers, who he defeated many times in the summer season on the holiday camps circuit. Scurll debuted for the likes of IPW: UK and RQW, including wrestling Jonny Storm, Taiji Ishimori, Bubblegum, and several others during the year. Marty made his All Star Wrestling debut on June 5, 2007, defeating Jimmy Starr at Gravesend. Marty appeared on All Star, including the main eventing Fairfield Halls, Croydon, against Pro Wrestling's Shuhei Taniyanagi. Marty will restructure his tag team with Zack Sabre Jr. in IPW:UK, but under the banner The Leaders of the New School. They then feuded with BritRage (Mark Sloan and Wade Flitzgerald) and The Kartel. In IPW: The British National Championship Tournament, Scurll wrestled and lost to Doug Williams.

During Scurll and Sabre's 2009 tour, the company concentrated on the IPW:UK tag team division, winning by a slew of victory over the Thrillers (Mark Haskins and Joel Redman), who received a major victory over the company's February tour. Following the Leaders' scheduled opponents' failure, a much awaited rematch took place between the teams at the 2009 "Sittingbourne Spectacular" after the Leaders' scheduled opponents had to cancel due to injury. This time, the championships were on target, and the Leaders took their first championship gold in IPW:UK. The feud between the Leaders and the Thrillers became the most popular storyline in IPW:UK during the summer, culminating in the Leaders winning a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match against their opponents in September. Since being champions for the first time, the Chiefs have enjoyed an unbroken reign.

In August 2009, Scurll and Sabre clashed in the first match of the newly formed Frontier Wrestling Alliance, defeating Northern Xposure (NX) at "New Frontiers." In a four-way match against Noam Dar, Jack Gallagher, and Dan Moloney, Scurll won his first match in the ICW. In an exciting semi-final match against Zack Sabre Jr., he defeated him in a thrilling final match before facing them in a four-way match for the championship against Mike Mason, El Ligero, and champion Nathan Cruz. In a Two Out of Three Falls match at Chapter Two, Scurll advanced to face Cruz for the title, but he was unable to win the title.
