Paige Life

Saraya-Jade Bevis (born 17 August 1992) is an English professional wrestling performer, actor, and former professional wrestler.

Paige is a fictional character in WWE.

Bevis was the inaugural NXT Women's Champion in WWE's developmental branch NXT, winning both titles at the same time in 2005, under the ring name Britani Knight.

She went on to win many championships on Europe's independent circuit.

She signed a deal with WWE in 2011 and began wrestling within the WWE's developmental system, eventually debuting on WWE's main roster in April 2014.

She won the Divas Championship in her first appearance on the main roster, becoming the youngest champion in the series's history at the age of 21.

Early life

Saraya Jade Bevis was born in Norwich on August 17, 1992. Julia Hamer-Bevis and Patrick Bevis, her older siblings, Roy Bevis and Zak Frary, are wrestlers in a pro wrestling family; her parents, Julia Hamer-Bevis and Patrick Bevis, and her older brothers, Sebastian Bevis and Zak Frary are wrestlers; her grandparents, Julia Hamer-Bevis and Patrick Bevis, are wrestlers. The family runs the World Association of Wrestling in Norwich, Norwich, and her mother owns and operates Bellatrix Female Warriors, a women's wrestling promotion that is also located in Norwich. Bevis' mother once fought over the fact that she was seven months pregnant. Bevis and her family lived in Norwich's council house. She attended The Hewett School in Norwich. She was afraid of wrestling due to her family's deaths as a child and wanted to become a zoologist. Bevis would occasionally get into the ring and fight one of her brothers, and her father would teach her wrestling moves from age 10. Bevis' younger brother died when she was 13 years old. When she was 15 years old, she served as a bouncer and bartender at her parents' pub when they were away.

Personal life

Bevis lives in Los Angeles. Bull Nakano, Alundra Blayze, Edge, Lita, Rikishi, Bret Hart, and Stone Cold Steve Austin are among her favorite wrestlers. She suffers from scoliosis, but she was unaware she had been suffering until after signing with WWE, when a trainer noticed that her back looked "wrong." Bevis had gotten into a car accident and had to have surgery during her stay at NXT. Bevis has several tattoos, one of which is dedicated to her younger brother who died when she was 13.

Bevis confessed to being "been with another woman" on WWE reality television show Total Divas. In early 2016, she married A Day to Remember guitarist Kevin Skaff, before they split up. Bevis met fellow wrestler Alberto Del Rio in October 2016. In late 2017, they ended their dating life. Ronnie Radke, the Reverse lead singer, has been in a relationship since late 2018.

Private nude photos and a Bevis sex tape were leaked online in March 2017. She said she was "looking forward and being proud" and that she was hoping that her "mistake would improve people's future[s]" and that she was "looking forward and being grateful." She later admitted that she suffered from "stress-induced anorexia" and considered suicide as a result of the event.

Paige Career

Professional wrestling career

Bevis made her debut in 2005 at the age of 13, when her father, who was running a wrestling show, begged her to replace a wrestler who failed to turn up. She lost in a triple threat tag team match in the World Association of Wrestling (WAW) in April 2006. Knight then joined Melodi to form the Norfolk Dolls, based on the film "The California Dolls), and the two teams competed in numerous English promotions. The Norfolk Dolls won the new World Association of Women's Wrestling (WAWW) Tag Team Championship in June 2007 by defeating the Legion of Womb, but the Norfolk Dolls later went inactive due to no title defenses.

Knight sent résumés to numerous wrestling tournaments around Europe, including Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, Norway, Norway, and Germany, as well as the United States, who traveled by herself at 14. She began competing in singles championships without much success. Knight won the first WAW British Champion in December 2007, but lost in the finals to Jetta. Knight competed against Sara and Jetta for their respective titles in 2008, but she fell short of advancing in her title contests.

Knight went on to win more singles since 2009. Knight defeated Sweet Saraya in a two-out-of-three falls match in August 2009 to take the vacant Herts and Essex Women's Championship. She revived the HEW Women's Championship from her mother on March 11th. Knights returned to Pro-Wrestling: EVE on 8 April to compete in a two-night tournament for the first time in Pro-Wrestling: EVE. Knight lost a four-way match to Jenny Sjödin in the first night of a Last Chance battle royal and then defeated Sjödin in the quarter-finals. Jetta was defeated in the semi-final match on the next day, and Nikki Storm defeated Nikki Storm later in the Pro Wrestling: EVE Championships. Knight defeated champion Amy Cooper on April 30th, defeating him in the SCW Ladies Championship. In 2011, Knight also won an elimination match to become the WAW Hardcore Champion.

Knight lost her Pro-Wrestling: EVE Championship to Jenny Sjödin on June 4, and she and her mother lost the SCW Ladies Championship to her mother on June 26th in a four-way match involving Amy Cooper and Laura Wellings. On November 19, 2011, Knight vacating the RQW Women's Championship on the same day.

On March 26, 2011, Bevis, also known as Britanni Knight, debuted for the American all-female competition Shimmer Women Athletes at the tapings of Volume 37 in Berwyn, Illinois. They were directed by Rebecca Knox and defeated Nikki Roxx and Ariel by disqualification after the other team used the Dynasty's brass knuckles, despite her mother Saraya Knight's as the Knight Dynasty. At Volume 38, the Knight Dynasty lost a Shimmer Tag Team Championship match against the Seven Star Sisters (Hiroyo Matsumoto and Misaki Ohata).

When Saraya refused to help Britani in October 2011, they lost their second Shimmer Tag Team Championship match against champions Ayako Hamada and Ayumi Kurihara. Saraya later scolded Britani after the match. Britani lost to Jessie McKay in Volume 43, her third straight loss. Saraya began disowning (in storyline) and slapping Britani, before a brawl ensued and the two teams had to be pulled apart. Britani then challenged Saraya to a match at Volume 44, where Britani defeated Saraya under no disqualification rules in what was her last Shimmer match.

When a talent scout appeared at a show in England, Bevis was first told that there would be try-outs for WWE. In November 2010, she was unsuccessful on her first attempt, but in April 2011, she triumphed. Bevis signed a deal with WWE in September 2011 and was moved to Florida Championship Wrestling's then-developing region (FCW). Saraya, the ring name, made her debut for FCW at a house show on January 5, 2012. When she made her televised debut in a role on FCW TV on February 26, her ring name was then changed to Paige. Bevis chose the word to honor Paige Matthews from Charmed, who had "a butt chin like me." Paige formed an alliance with Sofia Cortez in March 2012, dubbed the "Anti-Diva Army" in the United States. Paige made her television debut in a tag team match with Cortez on March 19, where the pair lost to Audrey Marie and Kaitlyn. Paige and Cortez began a brief friendship with Rick Victor after winning a mixed tag team match against Audrey Marie and Aiden English. Paige pinned FCW Divas Champion Raquel Diaz in a non-title triple threat match that also involved Audrey Marie on May 6th. Paige earned a championship match against Diaz on FCW TV's 27 May edition, where Diaz' chicanery resulted in Paige being disqualified and Diaz keeping her title intact. As Paige began to feud with Audrey Marie, tensions were teased within the Anti-Diva Army. On FCW TV, Paige lost to Marie on June 11th after Cortez intervened against her, hinting at an end of the relationship. Paige and Cortez's feud came to an end on the last episode of FCW TV on July 15th, with Marie emerging victorious in a no disqualification match.

WWE also rebranded its youth zone FCW into NXT, which was part of WWE's NXT. Paige's NXT television debut took place on the third episode of the revived NXT, which was taped at Full Sail University, in which she lost to Sofia Cortez. Paige went on a winning streak, surpassing Audrey Marie, Sasha Banks, Emma, Aksana, and multiple victories over Alicia Fox in September 2012 after receiving a significant surge in crowd support.

Paige was assaulted by Ring announcer Summer Rae on January 30, 2013 due to Rae's jealousy of Paige's fame and success. Paige sustained a shoulder injury after brawling with Rae on Feb. 13, which Rae exploited later in the episode to bring Paige's undefeated streak to an end. Paige defeated Rae in a singles match after Paige continued to face Rae on May 1st, despite Rae's pre-match assault. Paige won the first NXT Women's Champion in June after being in a tournament. She defeated Tamina Snuka and Alicia Fox in the final, in which she defeated Emma to become the inaugural champion (the day WWE officially begins her reign).

Paige made her first appearance on the 14th episode of NXT on August 14th, defeating Summer Rae. Paige teamed up with Emma in the upcoming months to rival with Summer Rae and Sasha Banks. On the 4th of December, Paige defended her title against Natalya and Emma on the 27th of February 2014 at NXT Arrival. Paige was forced to abandon her NXT Women's Championship on April 24 and not return it later (ending her reign at 301 days) after winning the Divas Championship.

Paige's first successful title defense on the 28th of April in an impromptu match against Brie Bella, which resulted in a no contest as Paige fled. Paige defeated Tamina Snuka on May 4th in her first successful title defense on pay-per-view.

Paige lost her first match on the main roster on 19 May 19th, when she face Alicia Fox in a non-title match that culminated in a title match between the two teams at Payback, where Paige defeated Paige. Paige began a feud with Cameron in June and defeated her in two non-title matches. However, Cameron's tag team partner Naomi went on to defeat Paige in a non-title match, and was given a championship match at Money in the Bank, which Paige defeated. During this period, WWE was chastised for failing to develop Paige's character, while still being criticized for doing so for Paige's opponents and portraying Paige as a vulnerable champion when she was proving herself in the storyline.

On the post-Money show in Raw's Bank episode on June 30, a role reversal occurred when a returning AJ Lee thrashed Paige in a title match to regain the Divas Championship, in which Paige was initially reluctant to face Lee, but she later agreed to the match at the request of the live audience. Despite the championship loss, Paige seemed as if she were best friends with Lee during tag matches in which they worked together. Paige lost a rematch for the Divas Championship to Lee at Battleground. Paige and Lee won a tag match against Emma and Natalya on July 21th, making Paige and Lee villainous after viciously attacking Lee. On August 17th, Paige's 22nd birthday, Paige's second Divas Championship match, and Paige defeated Paige in their second title match. Paige lost the match to Lee in a triple threat competition at Night of Champions, which also involved Nikki Bella. Paige formed an alliance with Alicia Fox while still feuding with Lee, but Paige dissolved their alliance after Fox failed to win Paige in another championship match against Lee in a Cell, and then turned to Fox the following night. Paige was the last person from her team to be eliminated in a 4-on-4 elimination tag team match at Survivor Series, thanks to Naomi.

Paige defeated Paige on the 5th January 2015 episode of Raw. At the Royal Rumble, Paige and Natalya clashed with the Bella Twins, which the Bella Twins won. Paige unsuccessfully challenged Nikki for the Divas Championship at Fastlane and on the 2nd March episode of Raw, after which returning AJ Lee saved Paige from a post-match attack by The Bellas. Paige and Lee defeated The Bella Twins in Paige's WrestleMania debut, which Paige and Lee won in Paige's WrestleMania 31 match. Paige won a battle royal to become the number one contender to Nikki Bella's Divas Championship on April 13th, but was criticized after the match by Naomi, who injured her in the storyline and made her unable to compete. Paige returned to Raw after a one-month absence, saving Nikki Bella from an attack by Naomi and Tamnuka before attacking Bella. At Elimination Chamber, Paige, Naomi, and Nikki all faced off in a three-strate match, which Paige lost. After Nikki and Brie swapped locations and in a triple threat match involving Tamina, Paige continued to unsuccessfully challenge Nikki for the championship in two singles matches on Raw and Money in the Bank in June.

Stephanie McMahon, the Bella Twins' outnumbered and Alicia Fox's ally, on the 13th episode of Raw, calling for a "revolution" in the Divas division, debuting Charlotte and Becky Lynch as Paige's allies and NXT Women's Champion Sasha Banks as an ally of Naomi and Tamina, resulting in a brawl between the three teams on July 13. After the first-name initials of each wrestler, the trio, originally called "Submission Sorority," was renamed "Team PCB." The three teams will ultimately face off in a three-team elimination match at SummerSlam, which the PCB won after Becky Lynch pinned Brie Bella. All members of PB competed in the first ever "beat the clock challenge" on August 31, but Charlotte was the top contender for the Divas Championship, but Paige defeated Sasha Banks to a time limit draw. On the 7 and the 14 September episodes of Raw, which Banks won, and the SmackDown's 10 September episode, where the two teams fought to a no contest.

Charlotte won the Divas Championship from Nikki Bella on September 20th, and Paige turned on her colleagues and cut a worked shoot video during Charlotte's reception the following night, accusing Charlotte of only being there because of her father and mocked other Divas division participants, including Becky and Natalya. Paige also had multiple clashes with Natalya as a result of this. Paige acted as if she wanted to reconcile with Becky and Charlotte, only to threaten them. Paige earned the Divas Championship in November after winning a thrilling four-way match, but she was unsuccessful in regaining the crown on three fronts: on Survivor Series, when she lost by submission the following night, resulting in a double count out, and on TLC, when she once more lost.

Paige took some time off television after her rivalry with Charlotte due to injuries on January 18, 2016, returning to Raw's 18 January 2016 episode, accompanying her old adversary Natalya to her match against Brie Bella. Paige got involved in many singles and tag team tournaments after she returned to action, winning and losing on both winning and losing teams. Paige then aligned herself with fellow Total Divas cast members Brie Bella, Natalya, Eva Fox, and Eva Marie, battling Lana, Naomi, Tamina, Summer Rae and Emma in a 10-Diva tag team match on the WrestleMania 32 kick-off tournament, in which Paige's team emerged victorious. Paige was given a title match on the 20th June edition of Raw, where she failed to capture the crown and was halted by Charlotte and her accomplice Dana Brooke post-match before being saved by Sasha Banks. The following week, Paige and Banks defeated Paige and Banks in a tag team match, which culminated in a tag team match.

However, WWE released a statement claiming she had "tested positive for an illicit drug, not a prescription drug." She underwent successful neck surgery on October 19 and was cleared to return to in-ring competition in September 2017.

Paige returned from Raw on November 20, 2017 as a heel to confront Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James, and Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. The Kabuki Warriors, Paige's newly formed team and current SmackDown draftee Kairi Sane, were on duty a week later. The pair would have been unsuccessful initially; however, the duo would be on an off-screen hiatus due to neck surgery, but the pair would capture the titles on October 6th in a Cell, turning heel in the process. The pair turned on her as Paige returned to congratulate them on the 28th of October, with Asuka spraying Paige's face with green mist, effectively ending links with her. She then appeared on WWE's studio show WWE Backstage, which premiered on FS1 on Friday on November 5th.
