Kid Kash Career

Professional wrestling career

Kash's father was a boxer, and Kash began training at the age of seven years. He went on to become a professional fighter and worked in Japan. Cash met Ricky Morton on the road with him and continued his training. Cash wrestled on the free circuit as a welder by day. He created a short-lived tag team with Ricky Morton Jericho under the name David Tyler Morton Jericho.

Kash began wrestling at the age of 20 in 1989.

Cash's first mainstream exposure came in late November 1996 with ECW. David Tyler Jericho, then wrestle, then fought in Philadelphia as David Tyler Morton Jericho, and Ric Savage, a former teammate. Cash was a friend of New Jack of the Gangstas and Rob Van Dam, and it was Rob Van Dam who first introduced Cash to Paul Heyman.

Cash left ECW to return to the indies and even wrestled house shows for WWF in 1997. He appeared on television tapings on April 28, 1998, just shy of defeating Taka Michinoku. Cash strained both of his ankles after delivering a botched hurricanrana on Scotty 2 Hotty during a WWF house show against the tag team Too Cool. Cash was depressed for a while due to injuries.

Cash resurfaced in ECW in late 1999 under the banner "Kid Kash," a new gimmick. The name change was due to his uncannily similarity to musician Kid Rock. Kash would dress as Kid Rock from his Devil Without a Cause album and even performed the song (and named one of his finishers, The Bawitaba) during this period in his career. Kash suffered a fractured jaw in Atlanta with The Dupps just months after his return. During games and as payback during a planned run in during Kash's match, he took heat with the tag team for his ostensible and firing moves on Kash as well as during a planned run in. At the time, Atlanta was battling a flu epidemic, so Kash needed to see a private doctor to fix his jaw because the hospitals were overloaded. Despite the injury, Kash continued to wrestle and never skipped a night off. After going from Atlanta to Birmingham, Alabama, less than 24 hours after his jaw was wired shut, he even wrestled on the Guilty as Charged PPV. Paul Heyman and several other ECW wrestlers have earned him the respect of his fellow wrestlers. Kash recovered from the injury and went on to wrestle tag matches, cruiserweight-style matches, and even wrestled Mike Awesome for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship at Living Dangerously on March 12, 2000, although he lost after being knocked from the top rope through a Table. Rob Van Dam, Super Crazy, Nova, and The Sandman were among his tag team members during the time. Kash took the ECW World Television Championship by defeating Rhino on August 26, 2000 at Midtown Massacre. Rhino will regain the title from Kash just a few weeks later. In a singles match at Anarchy Rulz, Kash, EZ Money was pinned to a singles match on October 1. Kash beat C. W. Anderson in November, according to Remember. The Unholy Alliance (Yoshihiro Tajiri and Mikey Whipwreck) defeated him and Super Crazy in a tag team match on December 3 at Massacre on 34th Street. He and Super Crazy and F.B.I. were charged at Guilty as charged. In a three-way dance tag team match, Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke were both defeated by The Unholy Alliance. Following Guilty as Charged, the service was defunct in 2001.

Kash was drafted as "Cash" by ECW two months after ECW folded him into World Championship Wrestling, where he was branded "Cash" by World Championship Wrestling. He only played on Thunder's last episode, where he lost to Jason Jett on March 21, where he was in tears. The World Wrestling Federation bought WCW for the second week in a row.

Kash re-emerged in TNA Wrestling as part of the X Division on August 14, 2002. Kash won the TNA X Division Championship from Sonny Siaki on February 12, 2003, losing the title to Amazing Red on April 30 using the gimmick of a cocky, obnoxious heel (while still retaining a degree of his Kid Rock demeanour). Kid Kash had a lot of rivalries against James Storm, Dusty Rhodes, Jeff Hardy, A.J. Styles, as well as a few intergender matches with Trinity. In addition, Kash was up against legends such as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Larry Zbyszko. Ricky Morton, his manager, was even beat by him.

Kash won the NWA World Tag Team Championship on March 31, 2004, and the pair picked the titles up for the second time on April 21, before losing them to America's Most Wanted in June 2004. After months of exposing the organization, TNA reported that Kash had been fired from his TNA position on April 20, 2005. After being banned from TNA, he signed with WWE.

Kash's first appearance on television was as one of many disrupters in the main event at ECW One Night Stand. However, his first official WWE outing was his appearance in the television broadcasting of Sunday Night Heat against Tajiri on June 19, 2005, in what was dubbed a tryout match. In an interview on June 23, he said, "You never know what the company is looking for." I may not be what they're looking for. "I can only wish" means he kept trying to get back to the WWE, implying that he will keep trying to get to the WWE's deal. Kash later wrestled a few matches on Velocity before returning to the SmackDown in the same month. He was reported to have signed a developmental contract with WWE and was later assigned to Deep South Wrestling, and to have been promoted to Deep South Wrestling. Brand: a new brand. On SmackDown!, Kash appeared after a tag team match between MNM and The Mexicools, reportedly attacking Juventud. Super Crazy, a Mexicanol member, took on Super Crazy the following week. Kash won the match, earning him a title match against Juventud at Armageddon. Kash made his WWE pay-per-view debut on December 18, 2017, defeating Juventud in the Cruiserweight Championship. Kash lost the Cruiserweight Championship to Gregory Helms on January 29 at the Royal Rumble in Rumble.

Kash began to regularly tag teams with Jamie Noble to face face opponents of the cruiserweight division; during May 2006, the team's founders, who wore dog collars, often barked at and bit players, and soon after, the team's name was changed to Kash; soon after the team was established, Kash has a new haircut. The pair were soon branded The Pit Bulls and joined the WWE Tag Team Championship hunt for Paul London and Brian Kendrick. This was Kash's last WWE pay-per-view appearance at The Great American Bash on July 23rd, when Noble and Kendrick defeated him and Noble at The Great American Bash. In a tag team match against K. C. James and Idol Stevens, his last WWE appearance on the September 29 episode of SmackDown! WWE announced that Kash had been fired from his WWE gig on September 27, 2006. Kash would later admit that his release was due to him being caught smoking weed backstage at a WWE convention in Montreal, Canada.

On The Fight Network in the United Kingdom, Kash appeared on Real Quality Wrestling. He spent time in several European countries, including One Pro Wrestling in Tewkesbury for top midlands wrestling Pro Championship Wrestling, and also in Waterford, Ireland, for Irish Whip Wrestling. In Nashville, where he lives, Kash wrestled often for promotions. The most notable of this championship was NWA Southern All-Star Wrestling, where he has won the tournament multiple times.
