Jung Kyung-ho Life

Jung Kyung-ho (born August 31, 1983) is a South Korean actor.

He is best known for his support roles in I'm Sorry, I Love You (2004), Time Between Dog and Wolf (2007), and his leading roles in Smile, You (2009) and Heartless City (2013).

He has appeared in Beating Again (2015), One More Happy Ending (2016), Missing Nine (2017), Prison Playbook (2017–2018), and Life on Mars (2018).

Early life

Jung Kyung-ho is the son of Jung Eul-young, veteran TV producer, and frequent collaborator of writer Kim Soo-hyun on hit television shows such as Mom's Dead Upset, My Husband's Women, Life Is Beautiful, and Childless Love. Jung Eul-young had initially opposed his son's desire to pursue acting, but Jung defied his father's wishes and moved outside of the family's house. Before finally reconciling, both father and son did not speak for three years.

Jung applied for and was accepted in Chung-Ang University's theater department. He became roommates with Ha Jung-woo, an older theater company in his freshman year. Haz's life had a lot of influence in Jung's life, and Jung later said he wanted to become an actor after seeing Haman perform onstage. In 2003, it was Ha who advised Jung to audition for the KBS actors' audition.

Personal life

In April 2008, he and actor Yoo Ha-jun became business partners and opened Double Bill, a subscription-based shopping mall that sold vintage and trendy clothes for males.

Jung enlisted in the 306th draft on November 30, 2010 to complete his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier. He was later posted in Yongin to the military band, before being discharged on September 4, 2012, with a commendation from the Army Chief of Staff.

Jung's agency revealed in January 2014 that Choi Soo-young of Girls' Generation had been dating actress and singer Choi Soo-young since early 2013. Since attending the same university and church, the couple became closer.

Jung Kyung-ho Career

Career

Jung completed the KBS audition and was quickly hired by top talent firm SidusHQ. He made his acting debut in 5 Stars, a mobile drama developed by SidusHQ and broadcast via SK Telecom. He was joined by four other newcomers from the company. A few minor characters were followed by a few roles on KBS.

Jung's first big break came in the 2004 melodrama series I'm Sorry, I Love You, starring an actor who tethers with his childhood friend (Im Soo-jung) and has an unusually close friendship with his mother. It was a critical and commercial success, which culminated in his appearance in two films in 2005: he played a novice nun (Yoon Jin-seo) in the ensemble romantic comedy All for Love (Kim Joo-hyuk) and a more devoted assistant of a shy photographer (When Romance Meets Destiny).

Jung returned to television in the well-received action drama Time Between Dog and Wolf (2007), in which he and Lee Joon-gi played NIS agents, in which he appeared in his first leading role in the little-seen Gangster High (2006). He returned to the big screen for his role as a cop who unintentionally became interested in an autistic young woman (Kang Hye-jung) in Herb, earning him the Best New Actor award at the Chunsa Film Art Awards. In another surreal romance For Eternal Hearts, the opening film of the 2007 Puchon International Film Festival, Jung played a 1980s-era college student tutoring a high school girl (Cha Soo-yeon).

Jung was later portrayed by director Lee Joon-ik in Sunny (2008) as a double bassist in a "consolatory band" that aids the heroine (Soo Ae) in locating her husband during the Vietnam War. In Running Turtle (2009), he appeared as a fugitive who faces a small town detective (Kim Yoon-seok).

In Ja Myung Go (2009), based on the folktale Prince Hodong and the Princess of Nakrang, Jung played Prince Yeo-war (Princess Jamyung was played by Jung Ryeo-won). Jung bounced back with famous family drama Smile, You, in which he and Lee Min-jung appear as a couple from various backgrounds, after Ja Myung Go's lackluster ratings. "I am delighted to be able to play a fun character and work on a fun script," Jung said.

Jung selected the low-key The Great Gye Choon-bin (2010), a one-act Drama Special episode in which he played an art therapist who helps him get over his fear of the dark.

Heartless City (2013), Jung's first acting project post-army, a noir crime drama. He has received the best praise for his work as the protagonist of a mysterious, conflicted antihero.

In the comedy Rollercoaster from Tokyo to Seoul, he appeared as an arrogant Hallyu actor (known worldwide as Fasten Your Seatbelt). In Fantagio, Ha Jung-woo, Jung's companion and a fellow college alumni/agency mate were the first to directorial debut.

He appeared in Endless Love, a 1970s-set period drama, and Manhole's role as a psychopathic serial killer. After a heart transplant, Jung then appeared in Beating Again, a romantic drama about cellular memory.

He appeared in One More Happy Ending, a romantic comedy film from 2016.

Jung appeared in Missing Nine in 2017 and the critically acclaimed black comedy series Prison Playbook followed him.

Jung was the lead actor in a Korean adaptation of British crime drama Life on Mars in 2018. The series received acclaim from viewers, and Jung was lauded for his convincing portrayal of a dazed detective.

Jung appeared in When the Devil Calls Your Name, an occult melodrama.

Jung appeared in hit and critically acclaimed medical drama Hospital Playlist as Kim Jun-wan, an associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery. In 2021, he reprised his appearance in season 2 of 2021.

Jung returned to the big screen in 2022 with The Great Dancer, the first time a woman has appeared in four years since 2018.
