Yuli Rachmawati (15 July 1980 – October 10, 2017), better known as Jupe, was an Indonesian actress, dangdut singer, model, and businesswoman.

She became well-known in the early 2010s for her outspoken comments against conservative Muslim clerics who deemed her too sexy or "pornographic" for Indonesian audiences. In 2014, she announced that she had been diagnosed with Stage 2 cervical cancer.

By 2016, the cancer had risen to Stage 4 and she died in June 2017.

Career

Julia moved to the Netherlands for further clandestine administrative work after starting out as a Jakarta secretary. Damien Perez' ensuing relationship opened the door for her to model for FHM and Maxim magazines in France. Jupe was nominated as one of the world's Top Sexiest Women after her appearances in FHM and Maxim.

Julia, who embarked on acting, returned to Indonesia for a holiday to help her younger sister attend a casting session for a soap opera around 2002. She appeared in late-night comedy revues, including Komedi Nakal (Naughty Comedy). In an unofficial Indonesian version of Baywatch, Penjaga Pantai (Beach Guards), she gained more exposure and fame by playing a lifeguard dressed as a lifeguard in a red swimsuit.

She went on to appear in local soap operas, variety shows, and horror films, as well as becoming a well-known dangdut actress. Kamasutra's debut album, which was released in 2008, featured a free condom, angering conservative Islamic organisations and resulting in her being barred from performing in several cities. She was refused from attending a concert in Pekanbaru, Riau province, on August 17th Independence Day.

Perez introduced Jupe Fried Chicken (JFC), a chicken fast-food franchise.
