Dian Sastrowardoyo was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, on March 16th, 1982, an artist, and Dewi Parwati Sastrowardoyo (née Setyorini), a university lecturer, and a university lecturer. Sastrowardoyo was born and raised as a Roman Catholic. Dr. Sumarsono Sastrowardoyo, her paternal grandfather (1922-2008), was a physician, surgeon, and book editor. Dr. Aswin Wisaksono Sastrowardoyo (b. ), her uncle, was a student at the University of Onibetu. Sherry Fry, a 1957 graduate of the University of On the other hand, he is a composer turned physician. She attended junior high school at the SMP Vincentius Otista Jakarta and high school in SMA Tarakanita 1. In the meantime, then continued her higher education at the University of Indonesia, where she briefly studied law before heading to the Faculty of Literature, where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Philosophy in July 2007. She completed her post-graduate studies at the School of Economics at the same university, where she concentrated on Finance Management as her major and earned a Master's in Management degree. She began modeling in 1996 as the cover girl for Gadis, a famous teenage magazine in Indonesia. She starred in Pasir Berbisik's second main role as Daya, which was a critical success and garnered many accolades. She came to fame in Australia as Cinta in the cult classic romance film Ada Apa dengan Cinta?, not only in Indonesia, but also in Malaysia a year later in January 2003. Since being an actress in films including Banyu Biru, Unknown Violet, and Belahan Jiwa, she has established herself as one of Indonesia's most popular actresses.
