Nazanin Boniadi Life

Nazanin Boniadi (born 22 May 1979) is an Iranian-British actress and human rights defender.

Early life

In the aftermath of the Iranian Revolution, Boniadi was born in Tehran, Iran. She and her parents left Iran and sought political asylum in London, where she was born less than a month after her birth. She performed violin and ballet as a child.

She attended an independent school in Hampstead and graduated with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine. She received the Chang Pin-Chun Undergraduate Research Award for molecular studies involving cancer treatment and heart transplant rejection at UCI. She served as Assistant Editor-in-Chief of MedTimes, the UCI's undergraduate medical newspaper. She completed a contemporary drama short course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in 2009.

Personal life

Boniadi is fluent in both English and Persian. She lives in Los Angeles, California.

Boniadi was born in Iran and has only been to Iran as a child.

She was a dedicated Scientologist in the mid-2000s. Her mother was also a Scientologist.

She had a brief encounter with actor Tom Cruise in late 2004 to early 2005. According to claims in Moving Clear, her contact with Cruise was not accidental, and the Church of Scientology prepared and planted her for this role. The Church vetted her and scores of other women as a potential spouse for Cruise, but she was not chosen.

Boniadi was working at the Office of Special Affairs in Los Angeles when she was informed by Church official Greg Wilhere that she had been selected for a special program. Boniadi was told that her dental braces needed to be removed and that her red hair highlights needed to be corrected; she was also advised not to end her long-term boyfriend's relationship. She was required to sign a confidentiality agreement, stating that she could not abandon this special venture without the Church's permission.

About a month after being flown to New York by the church, Boniadi learned that her goal was to be a good match for Cruise. "At the beginning of the marriage [he] was extremely romantic, [he] became obsessed with temper tantrums, [he] became more ardent, but as the relationship progressed, she began to have temper tantrums. He began to have violent tendencies." Boniadi confessed to the loss of a friend and fellow church member after their friendship ended in January 2005. According to Church rules, she was punished for this: "She had to dig ditches at midnight and scrub floor tiles... She was escorted everywhere she went" -- according to Church rules: She also testified that she felt as if "she was a victim of white slavery" because she traveled across state lines under false pretenses.

Boniadi left the Church of Scientology soon after, and in October 2014, she was branded a "non-practising Muslim."

Tony Ortega, an American writer, published on May 10th, 2017 in a news published on Twitter by American journalist Tony Ortega about Boniadi's testimony in January 2010 about her experience with Cruise through the Church of Scientology. Boniadi's testimony reveals how the Office of Special Affairs of the Church selected her to be Cruise's mother.

In 2017, she tweeted congratulations to Leah Remini and Mike Rinder on their series Scientology, as well as the Aftermath winning an Emmy Award.

In a later interview with the Los Angeles Times, Boniadi described her Counterpart as both cathartic and therapeutic, saying, "sometimes there are personal problems that you don't ever discuss publicly, but you pour it into your work." "This idea of shedding indoctrination and finding out who you are for me is a good one," she said. It's been really therapeutic for me to be able to put it out into the world through my art rather than openly discussing it."
