Judy Norton-Taylor (born January 29, 1958) is an American actress and theater producer best known for her appearances as Mary Ellen Walton on The Waltons television series and subsequent Waltons TV movies.
Personal life
She was born in Santa Monica, California, to parents Harry and Constance (née Glazebrook) Norton. At the age of 13, she began practicing Scientology and became a minister in the Church. She married Douglas Taylor at the age of 18 in 1976; the marriage ended in divorce in 1978. Lynn Hughes, a former football player, was married again before she divorced.
Norton, who was still being regarded as a child actor in her early 20s, posed nude for the Playboy issue in August 1985 in an attempt to erase her wholesome "family" image. Norton married Randy Apostle in 1991. Before divorcing in 2001, they had one son, Devin.
