Josh Robert Thompson Life

Josh Robert Thompson (born March 11, 1975) is an American voice actor, comedian, and impressionist.

He is best known for his appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, a robotic skeleton with many characters and impersonations, as well as Family Guy and The Howard Stern Show.

He appeared in a lead role in the 2014 romantic comedy Nowhere Girl.Thompson is best known for his celebrity appearances, including Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matthew McConaughey, and Donald Trump.

Early life

Thompson grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and was "raised by classic television." He would watch as actors developed new characters and began to imitate them. His grandfather gave him a Fisher-Price tape recorder, which he used to produce radio-style "shows," voicing the host and the guests. He appeared on stage in Peter Pan at the Cleveland Playhouse the next year.

Thompson wrote one line for the school's production of Oklahoma during his junior year at Padua Franciscan High School. And then he walked away with laughter and applause. "They're clapping for you," someone backstage said. They adore you.' "I was hooked" after that. Thompson and some of his classmates bought a video camera and began making feature-length and short films as well as television-style shows. In 1993, he graduated from Padua.

Thompson migrated to Los Angeles a few years later and appeared on local television and as a comedic while attending his degree in television, Radio, and Film Production at Fullerton. Because a "Josh Thompson" was already registered with the Screen Actors Guild, he used his middle name professionally.

Josh Robert Thompson Career

Career

During the 2003 California gubernatorial recall election, Thompson's Arnold Schwarzenegger image attracted national attention. Thompson, posing as Schwarzenegger, phoned in to Fox News Channel's morning show, Fox & Friends, fooling the hosts into thinking (at least for a short time) that he was really Schwarzenegger.

Thompson's Fox News prank caught The Howard Stern Show's fascination, and the fact—dubbed "Fake Arnold" by the show's designers—made him a mainstay on the show. Thompson appeared on the Conway and Conway and Whitman radio shows in Los Angeles (KLSX), as well as Bill Cosby's Breakfast show in Perth, Western Australia, where he played many characters, including Fake Arnold, Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Jackson, and Bill Cosby.

Thompson's "Fake Arnold" character suggested a fictitious scheme to "blow up the moon" in April 2005. Fake Arnold's phony scheme was able to deceive MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, who appeared shortly after on his television show to condemn the Governor for his alleged scheme. Scarborough apologised on-air for his erroneous remarks ten days after learning that the complete moon destroying scheme was a hoax.

Thompson tricked Star Trek actor George Takei into believing he was really speaking with Governor Schwarzenegger on January 10, 2006, one day after Stern's show debuted on Sirius Satellite Radio. Takei was eventually allowed to parody the humour several minutes after the phone call with Fake Arnold ended. One year later, the Takei prank was ranked sixth out of the Top ten best times from the show in 2006; it was also rated as the best moment in the program's ten-year satellite era.

Thompson has made many poor appearances in the show doing voice impressions like "Fake Arnold." In 2011, he appeared at the time for the final time. Other impersonator who also does several of the same voices as Josh has produced new reports on Stern's show.

Thompson made his first on-camera television appearance as Governor Schwarzenegger on CBS' The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He became a regular performer on the show, appearing on "Frat Guy," Brian Deese, and Levi Johnston, as Morgan Freeman.

Ferguson's robot skeleton sidekick Geoff Peterson appeared on the host's cues beginning on April 20, 2010. In September, Thompson wrote "recipe" for Geoff's voice: "1 part Snagglepuss." Vincent Price is part of a series. "George Takei" has two parts. Thompson appeared on Geoff as a show guest on May 16, 2011, but he later portrayed Peterson as a living sidekick who may reanimate his skeleton in a skit spoofing the show's opening broadcast, suggesting that Ferguson could reanimate his skeleton if skydiving. Thompson performed Geoff live on June 29, 2011 both in-studio and in famous venues such as Paris, France.

Since Thompson began voicing Geoff Peterson live, he brought several of his own impressions into the role. During the actor's appearances, he did his Morgan Freeman impression for Freeman. "Would you like to hear my Morgan Freeman voice," Geoff asked Freeman in June 2011. "What would you like to say to yourself?" says the author. A freeman gave the appearance of a thumbs-up and called it "outstanding."

Thompson took over as Sandra Peterson's voice and operator, with the fireplace hanging above the fireplace. Dana DeLorenzo, a comedian, created the role.

After leaving The Late Late Show in December, Craig Ferguson told Larry King Now in 2014 that he and Thompson will continue to work together. Ferguson called Thompson a "comedic genius" in the interview.

Thompson returned to the show a year later in March 2015, where fellow Ohio native Drew Carey served as host.

Thompson created an Indiegogo campaign in August 2015 to fund the pilot episode's post-production costs. Thompson's online following helped finance the postproduction expenses by raising $51,613 (US) surpassing the original $25,000 target in three days.

The recording was completed at Skywalker Ranch, where Ben Burtt ignored some of the steps and discovered Thompson's George Lucas sketch amusing. Ben Burtt later complimented Thompson's statement that Lucas himself would adore his show and his characters.

Thompson's pilot took to various social media platforms on April 9, 2018, including Twitter, Instagram, and Periscope.

Thompson has appeared on Family Guy, American Dad, since 2011. Skylanders Academy and Academy of Skylanders. Thompson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live from 2011 to its cancellation in 2013. Since 2017, he has been the announcer of the Writers Guild of America Awards. Thompson has been voicing "God" on his Morgan Freeman appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show since the program's game impressions, as he has been on the radio since 2019.

Thompson began filming on his first television series while watching The Late Late Show. In a television news show parody, Thompson appeared in the first installment, dubbed WJRT Television. Although some episodes of Funny or Die were posted on Funny or Die, the show was not available on a cable television.

Thompson also announced plans for The Josh Robert Thompson Exhibition in 2014, which would be a preview of Thompson's future. Through a crowdfunding campaign run by Indiegogo, the pilot episode was completed in 2015.

Thompson has also appeared on various podcasts throughout his career, including Darren Carter's "Pocket Party" and Brody Stevens' "Festival of Friendship." Thompson's most recent installment of his Joshin' Around podcast was picked up by iTunes in 2016, consisting of Thompson alone improvising all content.

Thompson has appeared in Yogi Bear and Scary Movie 5 as the lead character and a supporting role as a priest in the 2017 film Revelator. He appeared in The Angry Birds Movie, voicing two characters, and in the 2017 film The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature, he was also featured.

Thompson performed his Morgan Freeman impression in 2010 in television commercials for More Than Insurance. Thompson's character is referred to in the advertisement as More Than Freeman.

Web Series

Thompson appeared in a new web series called "F#cking 40," a Middle Age series. Bill Caco, Jeff Pride, and Justin Johnson appear in Thompson's script and director roles. At the FirstGlance Film Festival in Philadelphia, F#cking 40 was named "Best Web Series."
