Joe Tracini (born Joe James Pasquale 19 July 1988) is an English actor and host.

Dennis Savage, the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, is best known for his role as Dennis Savage.

His previous television appearances include the BBC Three comedies Of Age and the Boomerang children's sitcom My Spy Family.

Spamalot, who appeared in Patsy's role in a touring version of the performance in 2015, is among his theatre credits.

Early life

Joe Tracini was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, and the son of comedian Joe Pasquale. Debbie Pasquale, Jim Pasquale's second wife, and his second wife, Debbie Pasquale. The family later moved to Kent, and Joe was picked up in Higham, near Rochester. He was educated at King's School, Rochester, and the Rochester Independent College. Tracini, who had completed high school, attended the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, where he obtained a National Diploma in Performing Arts in early 2007. Tracini, in addition to being an actor, trained as a magician, showing a keen interest in magic at the age of two. In 2003, he was named "British Junior Magical Champion," a title he gained at the Blackpool Opera House in front of 3,000 international magicians. He also received the award of 'Most Promising Comedy Act of 2003,', which Ken Dodd selected and presented by him, as well as placing third in The Magic Circle's 'Young Magician Of The Year' competition.

Acting career

Tracini's first theatre appearance at the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend was in a pantomime version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Following his enrollment in the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, he went on to perform in a number of their in-house productions, including A Chorus Line and Sexual Perverse in Chicago, as well as a tour version of Richard III, in which he portrayed the title character. He returned to pantomime to play the title role in Peter Pan at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley in 2007. He reprised his role in Hayes, this time as Captain Hook. Despite a heavy filming schedule with Coming of Age and My Spy Family, he took to the stage in Cinderella in Crawley, where he received raving praise from local media.

He returned to pantomime in 2011 as Wishee Washee in Aladdin alongside Larry Lamb at the Ashcroft Theatre in Croydon after taking a year off in 2010. Tracini returned to Buttons in the following year, this time at the Barbican Centre in York with Dani Harmer and ex-EastEnders actor Joe Swash. He took a break from the pantomime stage in 2013, but returning to the stage in November 2014 as Buttons in Cinderella at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre with Julian Clary and The X Factor (UK series 4) actor Niki Evans, who reprised his role in Cinderella. Tracini will take over from Todd Carty in the role of Patsy in Spamalot's United Kingdom tour. Joe Pasquale, who had already appeared as King Arthur, was already cast in the musical.

He started his television work in 2004 when he appeared on CITV's STEM show Prove It! Spike Bannon was on television for the first time in 2007, and he appeared on Boomerang as Spike Bannon in My Spy Family. Following the success of the first series, he would continue to appear in both the second and third series until the series's time ended in January 2010. Tracini appeared in Darren 'DK' Karrimore's role in a pilot for the new BBC Three situation comedy Coming of Age in 2007. The first series, which premiered in 2008, was well-received with an average weekly audience of 1.2 million. Tracini's subpoena landed a second and third series after which he continued to receive accolades for his outlandish performances, but the decision was taken in 2011 to cancel the show. In 2010, Tracini appeared in the BBC Four comedy The Great Outdoors' single series Victor.

Tracini would be cast member of long-running Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks in the role of Dennis Savage, according to the release in August 2011. Dennis was originally intended to be comedic storylines, as Lee Hunter. On November 11, 2011, he made his first appearance on television. Tracini was nominated for Best Comedy Performance at the British Soap Awards 2012 after only six months in the role, but Coronation Street's Stephanie Cole was beaten to the award. Tracini was nominated for "Funniest Male" at the Inside Soap Awards 2012 in 2012, but she was later disqualified by EastEnders' Ricky Norwood. Tracini was nominated in the same category for the next two years, but he lost out to Coronation Street's Simon Gregson on both directions. With his last scenes broadcast in November of this year, it was announced in April 2014 that he would leave the soap. He appeared in 165 episodes in total. In August 2018, he will return to Hollyoaks for a short time. Tracini has been hosting the CBBC DIY series The Dengineers with Lauren Layfield from 2017 to present, and he's replaced Mark Wright in series 3.

He also appeared in Roderick Fenske's short film Future Dave as a Tony Blackburn alongside Keith Chegwin and Susannah Fielding in the British comedy horror film Kill Keith, away from television appearances.
