Early life

Thomas Edward Hopper was born in Coalville, Leicestershire, on January 28, 1985. He attended Newbridge High School and Ashby School, where he first demonstrated an interest in acting. He enrolled in a drama class and appeared in a revival of the musical Return to the Forbidden Planet. At Rose Bruford College, he studied acting.

Personal life

Laura Higgins, a film actress, was married by the Hopper in 2014. They have a son and daughter.

At the Watford Palace Theatre, the obnoxious actor was featured in various television series and films, including Saxon, Casualty, Kingdom, and Doctors. Marcus was portrayed by Hopper in Tormented, a comedy-horror film involving a bullied teenager who returns from the dead to seek revenge on his classmates. In May 2009, the film was released.

He appeared in an episode of Doctor Who in 2010. In the BBC series Merlin, Hopper played Sir Perpetual. He made the series debut in the third season in 2010 and was a regular for the next two seasons. Merlin debuted in 2012 but he appeared in Good Cop in 2012. In 2013, Hopper appeared in Cold, directed and written by his Merlin co-star Eoin Macken. Leopard was also released in the United States later this year. In Northmen: A Viking Saga, Hopper appeared as Asbjörn.

In the film Black Sails, in which he played Billy Bones, Hopper became the first actor to participate. The pirate drama serves as a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Hopper deliberately chose Bones as a "selfless guy looking out for his crew," implying that the character would have changed dramatically in the time period between Black Sails and Treasure Island. The show was shot on location in South Africa.

In 2016, Hopper appeared in the thriller Kill Ratio and a series of Barbarians Rising. Dickon Tarly, a character who had appeared in the role previously in season 6, appeared on the cast of HBO's Game of Thrones in season 7 as Dickon Tarly, replacing Freddie Stroma who had previously appeared in the role in season 6. In 2018, Hopper appeared in I Feel Pretty alongside Amy Schumer. In 2019, Hopper appeared in The Umbrella Academy as Luther Hargreeves. Hopper wore a muscle suit to get the right look and underwent martial arts training to prepare for the role. Hopper appeared in SAS: Red Notice, a 2020 film. In March 2019, he appeared in Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard. In the Netflix film Love in the Villa, which premiered on September 1, 2022, Hopper appeared in the premiere on September 1, 2022.
