Colton Lee Haynes (born July 13, 1988) is an American actor and model.
He is best known for his role as Jackson Whittemore in the MTV supernatural drama series Teen Wolf and as Roy Harper/Arrival in the CW superhero television series Arrow.
Early life
Colton Lee Haynes was born in Wichita, Kansas, or Andale, Kansas, a 900-square-mile town. He has referred to his parents as "free-spirited hippies." Haynes has five siblings, including brothers Clinton and Joshua, as well as a sister, Willow. He grew up on a farm in Andale and has since lived in Arkansas, New Mexico, Texas, and Florida. He attended Navarre High School in Florida and Andale High School in Kansas, and graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas. Haynes' parents were divorced; his father was married seven times.
Haynes came out as gay at the age of 14. He has alleged that he suffered bullying as a result of his sexual orientation, and that he had to leave home for a short time due to his mother's skepticism of it. Haynes' father died by suicide during Haynes' teenage years, and Haynes was told that his father's being gay caused him to commit suicide.

Haynes has suffered with anxiety throughout his life. After years of public skepticism over his "unique gay history," he gave off-the-cuff speech on Tumblr in response to a comment made in a gay lifestyle magazine XY a decade ago as confirmation that he was not out. Haynes, who is still not ready to talk openly about his sexual orientation, was compelled to seek medical attention for the next three months. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in May 2016, he came out explicitly as gay. Haynes confessed to concealing his sexuality on the advice of entertainment industry insiders who told him that being open about it would jeopardize his career.
On March 11, 2017, Haynes and celebrity florist Jeff Leatham announced their engagement. They were married on October 27, 2017. Haynes requested divorce from Leatham in May 2018, but the pair reconciled before their first wedding anniversary. However, they did reach a divorce deal in August 2019.
