Jennifer Winget (born 30 May 1985) is an Indian television actress best known for her portrayal of Kumud Desai in Saraswatichandra, Maya Mehrotra in Beyhadh and Zoya Siddiqui in Bepannah.
Early life
Winget was born in Bombay, India's present-day Mumbai, on May 30. She is the daughter of a Punjabi mother and a Maharashtrian Christian father, and she is often mistaken for a person of non-Indian origins due to her western first name.
Personal life
On September 9, 2012, Winget married Karan Singh Grover. Winget and Grover had separated in November 2014.
Career
Winget began her career in the 2000 film Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya and then appeared as a supporting actor in the Indian film Kuch Na Kaho at the age of 18. She went on to work in a number of Indian television shows later in life. Winget's biggest break came with the launch of television's show Karthika, where she played the part of a struggling artist with the intention of making it big.
She appeared in Kasautii Zindagii Kay later in the series, where she played Sneha, the protagonists' daughter. In the series Dill Mill Gayye, she replaced Shilpa Anand as Riddhima Gupta. She appeared on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's television show Saraswatichandra as Kumud Desai opposite Gautam Rode in 2013. She received the Indian Television Academy Award for Best Actress Critics for her work. In 2016, Winget portrayed Maya Mehrotra in Sony TV's Beyhadh. She has been recognized and lauded for her work.
