Gautam Rode (born 14 August 1977) is an Indian television actor best known for portraying the titular role in Saraswatichandra.

Early life

Gautam Rode was born on August 14, 1977. Rode and his family used to live in New Delhi but then moved to Mumbai. In Mumbai, Rode was forced to deal with many financial difficulties. Surendra Rode, Rode's father, is a retired broker and his mother, Sangeeta Rode, is a jewelry designer. Rashmi, Rode's elder sister, is his niece. Rode received his education from Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi. He obtained his degree from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College.

Personal life

He is both a fitness enthusiast and a vegetarian. He now lives in Kandivali, Mumbai. In February 2018, he married Pankhuri Awasthy Rode, with whom he had worked with in Suryaputra Karn.

With the show Jahan Pyaar Mile on Zee TV, Rode made his Indian television debut. He appeared on television shows such as Rishtey, Apna Style, and Thriller at ten in 2000. With the film Annarth co-starred Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, and Preeti Jhangiani, he made his Bollywood debut in 2002. In this film, he played Inspector Sameer Deshmukh. "Gutam Rode, the newcomer, has a good screen presence and impresses as an actor," Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama wrote about his appearance. He does a good job in stunts." Annarth earned over 23.4 million (US$2.9 million) in domestic terms.

He appeared in his second film, U, Bomsi & Me, with Sonal Sehgal and Vivek Madan in 2005. Sam Mac Patel, a radio jockey who aspires to be a writer and a well-known one at that, was he played him. He appeared on television in the shows Mata Ki Chowki, Kashi, a comedy that features women, in 2010, and Tana Ki Chowki, Kashi. Ab Na Rahe Tera Kaja, Crime & Bollywood, Maan Rahe Tera Pitaah and Aahat. Samvad, a guy who strives and spreads hope and cheers in everybody's life, was on display at Mera Naam Karegi Roshan in 2010. He debuted as Vineet Saxena on 2011, and he appeared on the Parichay show, Parichay. He appeared in Teri Meri Love Stories in an episodic role of Tarun. He and Karan Wahi hosted Nach Baliye 5 together in the same year.

He appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Saraswatichandra opposite Jennifer Winget in 2013. The performance was a turning point in his career and earned him a lot of attention and admiration. In 2013, he co-hosted Nach Baliye 6 with Karan Wahi. Saraswatichandra, the show, came to an end on September 20, 2014.

Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya, Ek Kahani a mythological drama, was his first show in 2015, though he did not finish it. In the series "Garud" who has the mission of saving humanity, he played Rudra. In April 2015, the performance fell on the audience and ended. Karna is the show's lead. He entered Suryaputra Karn in 2015 as the show's lead. In July 2016, the festival came to an end. Rode appeared as Prince Veer in Star Bharat's mystery thriller series Kaal Bhairav Rahasya Season 2 alongside Additi Gupta in 2018. He has appeared in SAB TV's Bhakarwadi from 2019 to 2020. Rode appeared in State of Siege, a war thriller film directed by Ken Ghosh and released on Zee 5 on July 2021. Rode appeared as Pawan Bisht in MX Player's original film Nakaab, alongside Esha Gupta and Mallika Sherawat later this year.
