Drashti Dhami (born 10 January 1985) is an Indian actress and model.

She is known for her role in Geet, Gui Sabse Parayi, Madhubala, Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, and Nandini in Silsila Baja, Ka. In 2013, Dhami and choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan received Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 along with choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan.

She has also established herself as one of India's top actresses.

Early life

Dhami was born in Mumbai on January 10th, 1985, into a Gujarati family, where she studied. She attended Mary Immaculate Girls High School and then moved to Mithibai College in Mumbai, where she obtained a degree in sociology. Dhami was a dance instructor before entering modelling; Dhami belongs to a conservative family. She said in a video interview with The Times of India, "She said, 'In India, she said: "It's true that the people who talked to her" says: "She said, if she were in India."

Personal life

Neeraj Khemka, a businessman from Dhami, married him in a traditional Hindu ceremony on February 21, 2015. Suhasi Dhami, an actress, is married to Jaisheel Dhami, her elder brother. When it comes to her jobs, Dhami said that her in-laws are extremely supportive.

Dhami began modelling for print and television advertisements before making her debut in the entertainment industry with the release of "Saiyan Dil Mein Agar Re" and "Humko Aaj Khazar Ki Dori," "Teri Meri Nazar Ki Dori," Vasan Eyecare, RKS Grand, Amul, Chevrolet, and Reliance.

With Star One's poular show Dill Mill Gayye, Dhami made her acting debut in television, where she played Dr. Muskaan Chadda from 2007 to 2009. In 2008, she appeared on Ekta Kapoor's reality show Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket. In 2010, she appeared as the female lead in Star One's Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi opposite Gurmeet Choudhary. Dhami was praised for her portrayal of Geet in this role. Since the channel was removed in December 2011, the show came to an end.

In 2010, Dhami appeared on Imagine TV's reality show Big Money: Chota Parda Bada Game. She appeared on Nachle Ved Khan, another reality show, the same year.

Dhami made a guest appearance on the program Na Bole Tum Na Kuch Kahaha in May 2012. Later, she appeared in Colors TV's Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon opposite Vivian Dsena from 2012 to 2014. In 2013, Dhami appeared in Colors TV's most popular dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6), and emerged as the champion and choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan. Dhami hosted Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 in June 2014. However, she was later promoted to Manish Paul. Dhami appeared in the Team Mumbai Wariors in December 2014, competing in Sony TV's Box Cricket League.

In 2015, Dhami played Rani Gayatri in Zee TV's Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani opposite Siddhant Karnick. While playing Gayatri, Dhami said, "I did not get to play Gayatri."

In May 2016, she left the show in May 2016. She appeared on television in the same year as Karan Patel, Nakuul Mehta, Karan Wahi, Disha Parmar, Sanaya Irani, Kritika Kamra, and several other television stars appeared in the same year.

Dhami appeared on Star Plus' Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil as Naina Batra, opposite Arjun Bijlani in November 2016. In June 2017, the show went off air.

In Colors TV's Silsila Badton Ka, opposite Shakti Arora, she appeared Nandini, a victim of domestic violence who falls in love with her best friend's husband. She was praised by a critic from India Today for her comment that she is as strong as another television actress Sriti Jha who has also been a victim of domestic violence in the past. In November 2018, she resigned from the show.

In 2011, Dhami performed special dance performances on shows including Chhoti Bahu - Rej, Sajan Re Jhoob, Kip Kahaani, and Pyaar Kiye Thami. She made a guest appearance on Colors TV's Na Bole Tum Na Kuch Kaha in 2012 to promote her show Madhubala.

She made a guest appearance on Nach Baliye 5 in March 2013 to help her brother Jaisheel Dhami and sister-in-law Suhasi Dhami. In June 2014, Dhami appeared on Colors TV's Mission Sapne and later appeared on Kapil's Comedy Nights. She appeared on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 in September 2015 as a visitor to Sanaya Irani.
