Gun-woo Lee Career

Life and career

Lee Gun-woo was born on January 30, 1989, his second child and first son in the family. He played soccer in middle school and then enrolled Woosong University to study sports. After becoming involved in the industry, he owned a fashion store in Apjeong-dong. At the age of 20, he decided to pursue a career in singing, something his parents and friends vehemently opposed. He moved from Daejeon to Seoul to become a singer. He auditioned for H2 Media, singing Kang Min-kyung's "Go to the Hospital" and dancing to G-Dragon's "Heartbreaker," and was accepted as a trainee right away.

Lee is a member of Myname, where he appears as the chief and principal vocalist. The group's debut single, "Message," was released in 2011. During this period, he began to learn about songwriting. In the film Shinokubo Story (2013), where he appeared in one of five characters aspiring to become "stars," he made his acting debut along with his group. On January 30, 2016, he released his first studio album, I Am 27 in Japan. Eight tracks were self-produced by Lee, with the remaining two being cover songs. The day after its opening, he held a release event at the Tower Records store in Shibuya, drawing in 350 people. On the country's national Oricon Albums Chart, the album ranked 39th. By the time of its operation, it had been chartered for three weeks and had sold 3,851 units domestically by the end of its life. On February 28, Lee hosted the Gun-woo First Showcase Live in order to advertise I Am 27.
