Ibrahim "Ebro" Darden (born March 17, 1975) is an American media executive and radio presenter.

He served as Vice President of Programming for Emmis Communications' New York contemporary urban station WQHT (Hot 97).

He and Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez, respectively, co-host on the Hot 97 morning show Ebro in the Morning.

Darden also hosts a hip hop radio show on Beats 1 as of 2015.

Early life

Dardens was born in the United States to a Black father and a Jewish mother. While growing up in Oakland and Sacramento, he attended a Pentecostal church and Hebrew school.

Career

Darden began working in radio at KSFM in Sacramento, California, when he was still a youth. He started as an undergraduate and as a sales runner before moving to program as an intern and then co-hosting for KSFM's night and morning shows. He served as both a program and music director at KBMB in Sacramento in 1997 and as a afternoon host. Darden became the operations manager at KBMB, while also co-hosting mornings at KXJM in Portland, Oregon, in 1999.

Darden became the station's program director in 2003, then became the station's program director.

Darden appeared on several previous WQHT Hot 97 morning show co-hosts, including Star and Buckwild, Miss Jones, DJ Envy, Sway, and Joe Budden, from 2004 to 2007, and Joe Budden introduced Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg to the AM drive in 2009. In 2012, he appeared on the Hot 97 Morning Show alongside Cipha Sounds, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez.

Darden, as program manager and on-air host, was the central voice of many Hot 97 events, including Nicki Minaj's love with the station and her alleged sexual acquaintance with the host; Hurricane Sandy; and Mister Cee's personal life.

This Is Hot 97, a VH1 produced an unscripted comedy series starring Darden and colleagues including Angie Martinez, Funkmaster Flex, Peter Rosenberg, Cipha Sounds, Miss Info, and Laura Stylez, among others.

Darden is now one of three anchor DJs on Beats 1, Apple Music's online radio service, in addition to his current on-air position on Hot 97.
