Timbaland Life

Timothy Zachary Mosley (born March 10, 1972), better known as Timbaland, is an American musician, record producer, rapper, singer, songwriter, and DJ. Timbaland's first full credit production job on Ginuwine was in 1996, the Bachelor for R&B singer Ginuwine.

Timbaland became a well-known R&B and hip hop artist after further work on Aaliyah's second studio album One in a Million (1996) and Missy Elliott's debut studio album Supa Dupa Fly (1997).

He appeared on several albums with fellow rapper Magoo, before his debut solo album Tim's Bio in 1998.

Timbaland produced Justin Timberlake's hit single "Cry Me a River" in 2002, before going on to produce the majority of Timberlake's subsequent albums, FutureSex/LoveSounds, and their respective hit singles.

Nelly Furtado, whose Timbaland-produced album Loose (2006) was a commercial and critical hit for a Timbaland-owned imprint label, Mosley Music Group.

Timbaland released Shock Value as a solo album in 2007, which was followed by Shock Value II in 2009. Timbaland's production credits from the 2000s include work with Jay-Z, Nas, Ludacris, Bubba Sparxxx, Madonna, Rihanna, OneRepublic, Drake, Rick Ross, and others, in addition to the aforementioned artists.

He has written 85 UK hits and 99 hits Stateside as a songwriter, as well as 99 hits in 2014.

Timbaland's production style has received acclaim.

"Just about every current pop trend can be traced back to him," Entertainment Weekly said in 2007, "from sultry, urban-edged R&B songstresses" to the art of incorporating avant-garde sounds into No. 1 hits.

Early life

Timothy Zachery Mosley was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on March 10, 1972, to Latrice, who ran a homeless shelter, and Garland Mosley, an Amtrak employee. He graduated from Salem High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. During his time as a DJ, he was known as "DJ Timmy Tim" or "DJ Timmy Timmy Tim." Sebastian, Sebastian's brother, is reportedly nine years younger. Courtney Rashon, a makeup artist and an author from New Jersey, is a painter and an author. Timbaland started a long-term friendship with rapper Melvin (Magoo) Barcliff while attending high school. S.B.I., the teen Mosleys were also a member of the S.B.I. production group. (which stood for 'Surrounded By Idots'), also featured Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams, and his cousin, Pharrell Williams. Mosley was also high school buddies with brothers Terrence and Gene Thornton, who would become known as Pusha T and Malice of the rap group Clipse, respectively. Timbaland was accidentally shot by a coworker at a local Red Lobster restaurant in 1986 and was partially paralyzed for nine months. He began to learn how to DJ with his left hand at this time.

Missy Elliott, a rapper, discovered his talent and began working with him. DeVante Swing, a producer and founder of the hit R&B band Jodeci, auditioned for her and her R&B group Sista. DeVante signed Sista to his Swing Mob record label, and Elliott brought Mosley and Barcliff along with her to New York, where Swing Mob was based. After the Timberland brand of construction boots, it was DeVante who renamed the young producer Timbaland. He and Magoo became members of Swing Mob's "Da Bassment" crew, which includes musicians including R&B singer Ginuwine, female vocal group Playa, Smoke E. Digglera, Static Black, and female group Sugah. Timbaland did postproduction work on a number of DeVante projects, including the 1995 Jodeci LP The Show, The After-Party, The Hotel, and Sista's (unveiled) debut LP 4 All the Sistas Around the World. Elliott began earning a reputation as a songwriter for artists like R&B's 702 and MC Lyte. Timbaland was often asked to produce remixes of her songs due to Timbaland's acquaintance with her.

Timbaland Career

Career

Timbaland's interest in producing R&B acts began early in his career. He made a few songs for R&B bands like Jodeci and Sista in the early 1990s. He made his mainstream debut in 1996 by releasing the bulk of Aaliyah's second album One in a Million and Ginuwine's debut album Ginuwine...the Bachelor. This included hits like Aaliyah and Ginuwine's "If Your Girl Only Knew." Timbaland's debut as a R&B musician, but his signature sound was nonetheless rooted in hip-hop, with its fast-paced attitude and clear drum breaks. He was bringing a hip-hop sound to R&B, and in this way, his presence helped blur the boundaries between hip-hop and R&B production. Missy Elliott's debut album Supa Dupa Fly, his first album as a childhood friend of Mosley, was produced by him completely in 1997. Timbaland's music style remained unchanged on this record, but Missy's music was still regarded as hip-hop by the time. He also released his first album in 1997, Welcome to Our World, also a hip-hop album. His hip-hop album in the late 1990s would be highly influential and common as he produced for many top hip-hop artists, including Jay-Z, Nas, and The LOX. With the hit "Big Pimpin'," he had a major hit with Jay-Z and rap group UGK in 1999. Da Real World was also responsible for Missy's second album in 1999. Timbaland continued to produce mainly for R&B artists during this period. He continued to produce for Ginuwine and Aaliyah, as well as contributing to albums by Xscape, Nicole, Playa, and Total. "You Make Me Wanna" was a remixed Usher's biggest hit "You Make Me Wanna." Timbaland produced "Roll Out (My Business)" by Ludacris, Petey Pablo's "Woke Up"), Petey Pablo's "Morrow"), and Beck's interpretation of David Bowie's "Diamond Dogs" during this period. He performed three songs on Aaliyah's self-titled third album, "We Need a Resolution" (featuring himself rapping a verse), "More than a Woman," and the ballad "I Care 4 U." He also appears in Aaliyah's single "Today," which he also created and co-wrote.

Timbaland & Magoo's second album together was supposed to be released in November 2000. Indecent Proposal would feature performances by Beck, Aaliyah, as well as younger Timbaland employees, including Petey Pablo from his new Beat Club Records imprint-Ms. (who was a member of Sugah during the Swing Mob days). The album was delayed for a year before being released in November 2001. It was a commercial failure. On the previous version, Beck's vocals for the track "I Am Music" were not included, instead featuring Timbaland and Pete "Static" Garrett of Playa and Aaliyah. Bubba Sparxxx's debut album on Beat Club in September 2001, Dark Days, Bright Nights was the first to be published. Timbaland was greatly affected by Aaliyah's death. Timbaland said on a phone call to MTV's Total Request Live: Timbaland said: "I'm not a cable television show."

Timbaland contributed three songs to Tweet's debut album, Southern Hummingbird, and produced the bulk of Missy Elliott's fourth and fifth LPs, This Is Not a Test! During this period, he also produced tracks for musicians including Lil' Kim ("The Jump Off") and southern rapper Pastor Troy. Timbaland also worked on a number of tracks on former *NSYNC lead singer Justin Timberlake's solo debut, Justified, including the song "Cry Me a River."

Timbaland's second Bubba Sparxxx album, Deliverance, and the third Timbaland & Magoo album, Part II, were both released in 2003, despite the fact that delivery was lauded by critics and embrace by the internet community. Timbaland produced singles for LL Cool J, Xzibit, Fatman Scoop, and Jay-Z in 2004, and Jay-Z produced the bulk of Brandy's fourth album, Afrodisiac. Timbaland co-wrote two songs ("Exodus '04" and "Let Me Give My Love") and wrote three tracks on Hikaru Utada's second English album, Exodus. Elliott's sixth album, The Cookbook, continued to be produced, with the words "Joy (feat). Mike Jones (Rebirth), "Partytime," and "Partytime" continues to grow his audience.

Timbaland's latest brand, Mosley Music Group, was founded by Timbaland and John Servedio, a long-serving Australian music producer who was also known as 'ServidSounds,' who helped Timbaland recruit some talent from his former Beat Club Records label. Nelly Furtado, Keri Hilson, and rapper D.O.E. were among the new models on the new label. Justin Timberlake's second solo studio album FutureSex/LoveSounds was released in 2006. "SexBack," "Sexy Ladies," "Chop Me Up," "What Comes Around" and the prelude to "My Love" entitled "Let Me Talk to You," features his vocals on "SexyBack," "Sexy Ladies," "What Goes Around," "What Comes Around," and "What Goes Around." Timbaland appeared on several albums, including "Wait a Minute," Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous," and Omarion and Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack." In an interview published in August 2006 in the United Kingdom Timbaland, he revealed that he was working on a new LP by Jay-Z and that he had collaborated on tracks with Coldplay's Chris Martin.

Timbaland appeared on seven songs on Björk's 2007 album, Volta, including "Earth Intruders," "Hope," and "Innocence," and later worked on track for Duran Duran's new Duran Duran Duran's latest Duran Duran Duran's Red Carpet Massacre, including one featuring his frequent collaborator Justin Timberlake. Timbaland produced songs for Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's album "Ayo Technology" later this year, as well as the song "Ayo Technology" on 50 Cent's album Curtis. Timbaland also produced the majority of the tracks on Ashlee Simpson's third album, Bittersweet World, which included the song "Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya Ya)" (Ay Ya Ya). Timbaland Presents Shock Value, a compilation album starring artists including 50 Cent, Dr. John, Fall Out Boy, Nelly Furtado, Missy Elliott, and others. In early 2007, Timbaland and record producer Scott Storch reignited a feud. When Timbaland annnishly slashed Storch, it became "I'm a real producer and you['re] just the piano guy." Timbaland confirmed in an interview that he was talking about Storch. Parts of the controversy resulted from a squabble over writing awards for Timberlake's "Cry Me a River."

Timbaland revealed in July 2008 that he was working on the sequel to his platinum-selling Shock Value, according to MTV's Shaheem Reid. He said he had one track with Madonna that had never been released on her album Hard Candy, but it didn't appear on her album Hard Candy, so it could have to be scrapped and instead land on this album. He was insistent that he would also collaborate with Jordin Sparks, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, and T.I. However, no of these collaborations (except Miley Cyrus) made it to the final track list, although Miley Cyrus) made it to the final track list.
