Sidney Onoriode Esiri (born 1 May 1980 in Ikeja, Nigeria), also known as Dr. SID, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter.
He is an Urhobo from Delta state but was born in Lagos.
His mother, a respected fashion designer, and his father, Justus Esiri, is a member of the Order of the Niger (MON), and he's best known for his role as the Village Headmaster, a Nigerian sitcom popular in the 1980s.
He had his heart set on becoming an entertainer from an early age.

Early life
Dr. SID is a doctor from Delta State; he was born and raised in Lagos. His mother is a fashion designer, while his father, Justus Esiri, is an actor. His father, who was a member of the Order of the Niger (MON), is best known for his role as the Village Headmaster, a Nigerian sitcom popular in the 1980s. Dr. SID's second child, from an early age, had a dream of becoming an entertainer. However, his life took a different path after graduating from the Nigerian Air Force Secondary School in ikeja, SID, to the University of Ibadan, Ibadan (UI) to study Dentistry and Dental Surgery. His talent for entertainment was not obscured during his youth, performing in school plays, dancing competitions, and concerts, winning multiple awards along the way.
Career
Dr SID is a choreographer who performed for the Nigerian hip hop group Trybesmen). He will spend three years as a backup dancer for the Trybesmen.
When he was made a member of Da Trybe and given a spot on the album that sparked a Nigerian Hip-hop revival, "OYA" in 2002 with Sasha, 2-Shotz, Timi, DEL, and the Trybesmen (Eldee, Kb and Freestyle), Dr SID had a shot in front of the microphone. SID's debut single "Don't Stop" and the top ten for eight weeks was on the MBI top ten for eight weeks last year, so his music career was put on hold while he had to wait a year to finish up his university degree.

Dr. SID left practicing as a dentist after 3 years to focus completely on his music career after being released in December 2007 by Don Jazzy's Mo' Hits Records and Records. On the album, he appeared on 7 of the 15 tracks, including "Booty Call" and "Close to You."
Dr. SID spent the majority of 2008 touring with the Mo Hits Allstars and appearing at some of the major concerts, including the Thisday Music Festival and Star Mega Jam.
Dr SID's debut as a solo artist on Mo' Hits Records with producer Don Jazzy was released. Turning Point's first single, "Something About You," was released in September 2009 and is now on the African charts alongside two others, Winchi ft Wande Coal and Pop Something ft D'banj. In Kenya, he appeared at the MTV Africa Music Awards as a member of the Mo' Hits Allstars alongside D'banj, Wande Coal, and Kenyan artist STL.
Dr SID's debut album Turning Point is released on April 11 by Mo' Hits Records. "Over the Moon" is the first single on the Nigerian top ten.
Dr SID has now signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin Records, following a fallout from the foundings of Mo' Hits Records, D'banj, and Don Jazzy. Solar Plexus was also featured on a Mavin Records compilation album featuring three songs from his forthcoming album.
On December 20, 2013, Dr. Sid's sophomore album titled Siduction debuted. Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince, Emma Nyra, Alexandra Burke, Phyno, and Wizkid appeared on the album, as guest stars. Baby Fresh, Don Jazzy, and BlayzeBeats performed on the album.
Dr. Sid appeared in Moses Inwang's "The Last 3 Digits." In the film, he starred an NYSC corp member and a friend. In Paris, France, it received the People's Film Festival's Best International Film award. On the MTV Africa Music award stage in Durban, Dr Sid performed his hit single Surulere Live.
