Dave Schultz Life

David Leslie Schultz (June 6, 1959 – January 26, 1996), an American Olympic and World champion freestyle wrestler who competed for the seventh time as a medalist. * He taught individuals and teams at the college level as well as privately. * He was killed by John Eleuthère du Pont, a millionaire philanthropist who sponsored the private Foxcatcher wrestling team at an amateur sports center called Foxcatcher Farm, when he first set up on his estate in Pennsylvania. Dave and his brother Mark Schultz, who was also a wrestler, were recognized for winning gold at the same Olympics (1984). * The Schultzes were one of three sets of brothers (the others were Buvaisar and Adam Saitiev, and Anatoli and Sergei Beloglazov), who went on to win both World and Olympic championships. The Schultz brothers earned more NCAA, U.S. Open, World, and Olympic titles than any other American brother group in history.
