Christopher Hemsworth (born 11 August 1983) is an Australian actor.
He rose to fame in the Australian television series Home and Away (2004–07) before beginning a film career in Hollywood by appearing in the science fiction film Star Trek (2009) and the thriller A Perfect Getaway (2010). Hemsworth continued to act in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), the war film Red Dawn (2012), the comedy Ghostbusters (2016), and the Men in Black film series spin-off Men in Black (2019).
His most well-known roles include the comedy thriller The Cabin in the Woods (2012) and the biographical sports film Rush (2013), in which he portrayed James Hunt. Early life
Christopher Hemsworth was born in Melbourne on August 11, 1983, to Leonie van Os, an English tutor, and Craig Hemsworth, a social-services counsellor. He is the second of three sons after Luke (born 1980) and before Liam (born 1990); both of them are actors. His maternal grandfather is a Dutch immigrant and his maternal grandmother is of Irish origins; on his paternal line, he is of English, Scottish, and German origins. He was born both in Melbourne and in Bulman, Northern Territory. "My earliest memories were on the cattle stations up in the Outback, and then we returned to Melbourne and then back there and then back to Melbourne and then back out there and then back to Melbourne and then back out there and then back to Melbourne." Personal life
After meeting through their mutual representatives, Hemsworth began dating Spanish model and actress Elsa Pataky in early 2010. They married in December 2010. The couple have two children, India Rose, who was born in May 2012, and two brothers, Sasha and Tristan, who were born in March 2014. In 2015, the family moved from Los Angeles to Byron Bay, New South Wales, in his native Australia.

Career
Hemsworth began his work by appearing in multiple television series. Hemsworth appeared in two episodes of fantasy television series Guinevere Jones as King Arthur, as well as appearing in soap opera series Neighbours and one episode of Marshall Law. In the ensuing year, he appeared in a episode of The Saddle Club. Hemsworth auditioned for Robbie Hunter's role in Australian soap opera Home and Away in 2004.
