Bii (born July 7, 1989) is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, and actor.
Early life
Bii was born and raised in South Korea. His father is from Taiwan, and his mother is Korean. The South Korean nationality law did not authorize South Korean women who were married to foreigners to pass their nationality to their children at the time of his birth, so he was regarded as an overseas Chinese in South Korea. Pil Seo-yeong, his younger brother, also has a younger brother.
His life in South Korea was said to be a little difficult because he did not qualify for a national identity card. He couldn't afford any health-care, and he had to pay higher tuition fees than his Korean peers.
Bii, who was a high school student then, was scouted by a SM talent agent, but his mother denied the possibility of him being a singer at the age of 17.
His mother tongue is Korean. Before going to Taiwan, he did not know Standard Mandarin.
Bii obtained his nationality in Taiwan in 2011. Between November 2011 and November 2012, he took a break from film to serve his compulsory military service in Taiwan.
Career
Bii was always interested in music. He was the lead singer in his high school band. Later, he went to Dongguan, Mainland China, to find his father, who was working there, and find a job. Afterwards, a friend of his father's took him to Taiwan and introduced him to Eagle Music's director, where Bii began to pursue a musical career.
Bii's first EP, titled "Bii," was released on July 9, 2010. There are four songs on the album: one in Korean and the other three in Mandarin. Bii released his first album, "Bii Story," on October 6, 2010. Both Korean and Mandarin are available.
The word "Be-I-I" stands for "Be-I-I," implying his dual personas.
He has written a few songs or composed the lyrics in Korean and Mandarin as a singer and songwriter. Several of Bii's songs were the theme tunes of a television show. His songs have appeared in many television series, including Zhong Wu Yan (2010), Love Around, Someone Like You, Bromance, Prince of Wolf, and Better Man in Taiwan.
As Peter, Bii made a cameo appearance in the TV series Love Around (2013). Gu Long, who ran against Fang Zan Cheng played by Kingone Wang, appeared in Episode 1 of the TV series Someone Like You (2015). In a romance comedy, Bromance (2015), he appeared alongside Baron Chen, Megan Lai, Sean Lee, and Katie Chen.
