Angelo Garcia (born March 28, 1976 in Brooklyn, New York City) is an American singer and songwriter of Puerto Rican descent, who was a member of Puerto Rican boy band Menudo from 1988 to 1990.

He is currently a solo artist.

Career

After seeing a television commercial in Puerto Rico during a family holiday, a native New Yorker born in Brooklyn, New York, barely spoke Spanish when he auditioned for a spot in the band Menudo.

After almost three years with Menudo, Garc, Garca, she left the band and joined World Wide Entertainment. Garca decided not to record a solo album because he had personally penned or collaborated on music in order to protect his artistic integrity and avoid a generic reworking of the Menudo sound.

Garca released Cool, a Spanish-language pop album on which he wrote or co-wrote every song. "Entergaré," (also known as "Si Es As"), which Garca co-wrote with songwriter Roy Tavare in the 2006 motion picture Yellow starring Roselyn Sánchez, was one of Cool's singles.

Garca started recording material for an English-language album in 2012, which is expected to be released in early 2013.

Garca posed for a series of semi-nude photos for Paragon Men, a gay erotica website, in May 2010. Garcia candidly discussed his homosexuality and his years of sexual exploration after leaving Menudo, as well as briefly as a stripper and erotic dancer and performing at the now defunct Gaiety Theatre in New York City. Ricky Martin, his ex bandmate who openly revealed his homosexuality just a few weeks after Garca's interview, was obstructive. Garcia (who produced his first Spanish hit "En Mis Sue") and began constructing and recording a new English language dance-pop album in Madrid in 2012. The song "Scandalous" describes a boy who is growing up in the spotlight and how growing up prematurely brought wretched trouble in his adult life. In 2013/2014, it is expected to be published.

In an exclusive interview with Dr. Zoe Today on May 7, 2015, Angelo Garcia revealed that he sexually assaulted a neighbor at 8 years old, by someone close to administration, then moved to a schoolteacher after he left the band after he departed the band. The show prompted by the overwhelming response to his interview, the caller encouraged them to call in sharing their own experiences of sexual assault and broadcast them on the following show, "Breaking the Silence," on May 14, 2015.

In an appearance on Tosh.0, he has stated that he is bisexual.
