Draco Rosa Life

Dr. Cornelius Rosa Suárez (born Robert Edward Rosa Suárez, also known as Dr. Robi Draco Rosa, or simply Draco, is a multi-time Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-winning Puerto Rican musician, singer, engineer, producer, and entrepreneur. Rosa rose to fame in 1980s as a lead on the band's biggest stateside hit, "Hold Me," and was prominently featured in accompanying music video.

After leaving the band, he moved to Brazil, where he released two albums and became popular.

He returned to New York and joined Maggie's Dream, which ended after only one album, allowing him to resurrect his solo career.

Ednita Nazario, Julio Iglesias, and Ricky Martin, the singer and composer, has released numerous albums and composed several for his Ednita Nazario, Julio Iglesias, and former Menudo bandmate Ricky Martin.

He has also appeared on VH1's Behind the Music. Rosa has been heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Iggy Pop, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Luis Alberto Spinetta, The Doors, Camarón de la Isla, Caetano Veloso, Glenn Danzig, Edgar Allan Poe, and Jim Morrison. He made his motion picture debut in the film Salsa, which was a big hit in Puerto Rico in 1988.

During the filming of the film, he met actress Angela Alvarado, who would later become his wife. He released the Latino alternative rock album Valianto produced by Phil Manzanera in 1996 before assisting Ricky Martin's musical career in a new global context with Vuelve.

Rosa wrote and produced several of Martin's hit singles, including "Mara," "Life in Love," "She's All I Ever Had," "She's All I Ever Had," "She Bangs," and "Shake Your Bon-Bon."

Rosa toured with Lenny Kravitz in the summer of 2004 to promote his concept album Mad Love. Rosa was diagnosed with a non-Hodgkin lymphoma tumor near his liver in April 2011.

In Houston and Santa Monica, he received alternate and traditional medicine.

Rosa went on hiatus for almost a year before returning to Vida in March 2012 to perform his new album with Vida, and he performed Juan Luis Guerra and Rubén Blades at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot.

He was declared cancer-free in December 2012.

After a second bone marrow transplant, Rosa's manager confirmed his cancer had relapsed and overcame cancer once more on December 9, 2013, but he had to remain quarantine for four more months.

Rosa has been cancer-free for five years as of February, 2019.

Early life

Rosa was born Robert Edward Rosa Suárez on Long Island, New York, to Puerto Rican parents Norberto Rosa and Sonia Suárez. He and his family immigrated to Puerto Rico, where he spent a significant portion of his childhood in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Personal life

Rosa is fluent in Spanish, English, German, and Portuguese. He was married to actress and director Angela Alvarado, whom he met during the filming of Salsa, which the two actors appeared in together. They married in 1988 and had two sons, Revel (born 1994) and Redamo (born 2001). Rosa filed for divorce in Los Angeles after almost 30 years of marriage in June 2019, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason. Since transferring from Los Angeles, he now lives in Utuado.

Rosa is the owner of a recording studio, an independent music label, and a multimedia firm operating under the name of Phantom Vox. He also owns Hacienda Horizonte in the mountains of Utuado, where his recording studio was relocated to and where the music videos for "Para'so Proso Proso" and "Reza Por M" from the album Amor Vincit Omnia were shot. Draco created Ron Vagabundo with the Serrallés Destillery, a brand of locally grown coffee, Café Horizonte, and a clothing collection, Vagabundo Clothing, among many other projects in Utuado. Draco was named Businessman of the Year by Puerto Rico's Chamber of Commerce in 2011.

Rosa was lauded by the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico for his long career despite being in the midst of his cancer recovery at the time of his relapse.

In addition to his personal investments, musical and otherwise, he has played a key role in Puerto Rico's cultural development, including the sponsorship of the Museo Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico and the establishment of an annual scholarship for outstanding students at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.

When Rosa invaded the US Navy's security zone surrounding Vieques' island-municipality, they arrested her alongside Senator Luis Gutiérrez, Edward James Olmos, Robert Kennedy Jr., and other protesters for civil disobedience. Rosa has vehemently opposed the US Navy's training missions in Vieques, and she has been a vocal promoter of the environmental movement and the independence movement.

Rosa started using opioids and alcohol for his songwriting shortly after leaving Menudo. Despite the fact that this provoked significant criticism, the majority of his followers did not appear bothered by it. Rosa has always been transparent about it, even admitting that his wife, Angela, saved his life on at least one occasion. In 2005, Rosa began taking narcotics.

Rosa was diagnosed with cancer on April 25, 2011, a non-Hodgkin lymphoma (not in his liver). At the Burzynski Clinic in Houston, he used several alternative therapies, such as high vitamin C doses or neoplasm therapy. He then underwent standard chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. Draco completed his quarantine and was declared cancer-free in his California home until December 31, 2012. Rosa tweeted that his latest cancer report came out negative on May 30, 2013, confirming that he has been completely eradicated of cancer. "I went in yesterday for a pet scan," he posted on Twitter. My findings came back today; I'm still free.

So happy!!

Draco's cancer had relapsed in a press conference for the World's Best 10K on December 9, 2013, Rosa's manager reported on December 9, 2013. A routine exam while on tour revealed a diffuse B-cell lymphoma, non-Hodgkin type, which his physicians suspect he will recover from again. The 2013 Latin Grammys revealed Dr. Mario's manager the night before. On January 5, 2014, Rosa was declared cancer-free again. Rosa had intended to attend the 10K on behalf of a nine-year-old patient who was recovering from a bone marrow transplant but was prevented from participating due to his own recovery and quarantine. Rosa, on the other hand, sent Angela and his son Redamo in his place. Dr. Bobbiet began his second bone marrow transplant in California on February 26 and spent four months in quarantine before being declared cancer-free once more.

Rosa revealed on August 23, 2018 by posting a video post on Instagram that after his last check-ups, he is 100% cancer-free, information that has been corroborated by his boss Wanda Troche. In another Instagram post from February 28, 2019, Rosa commemorated his fifth cancer-free birthday.

"I felt that the right thing to do was this should be the first single after so many years of writing and doing joint projects.
