There were four Egyptian songs on the album in the oriental operatic Classic Egyptian tarab style. The album was a instant hit in Egypt back in the days when the album was released with heartbreaking songs such as "Ya Sabra Yana" and "Samehtak Ketir." She quickly established herself in the Arabic market, a burgeoning market brimming with singers such as Angham, Najwa Karam, and Latifa.

Assala Nasri's support for the Syrian people and her resistance against Bashar al Assad has never been greater than at the start of the Syrian civil war. Her views in the Civil War are humanitarian, in which she wishes the conflict to be ended for the sake of the Syrian civilians. She had her first composing experience in the form of one song, which was released in 2011. Assala performed on International Peace Day as a new ambassador for "Peace Building Through Music," in honor of her role in the conflict. She was arrested in Beirut International Airport on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the behest of Lebanese authorities who support Bashar al-Assad for the offence of fraternizing with Israel. She had appeared in Palestine recently. She was arrested and quickly released for lack of evidence, but several pro-Syrian outlets never corrected their allegations that she was arrested for unlawful possession.
