Rasha Rizk (born 5 March 1976) is a Syrian singer-songwriter.
Rizk has earned a primary Grammy nomination in two categories, Best New Artist and Best World Music Album for her album Malak, as well as her work with the Syrian cartoon dubbing company Venus Centre and singing the Arabic theme songs for popular cartoons/animes such as Remi, Nobody's Girl, Detective Conan, and the Digimon Series.
Early life
Rasha Rizk began formal vocal training at the age of nine, and by the age of 12, she had won the Pioneers Children's Talent Competition. She studied French literature at Sorbonne University and graduated from the Higher Institute for Music in Damascus, where she later worked as an operatic singing professor.
Personal life
Rizk married composer Ibrahim Sulaimani in 2003. Sarah and her mother, Sarah, have a daughter.
She participated in the Syrian Revolution in 2011 and now lives in France with her family. She has expressed often that she would return to Syria if the circumstances were appropriate, and that she regarded it as a privilege toward her students.
