Jaswinder Singh Bains (born 1 April 1975), better known by his stage name Jazzy B, is an Indo-Canadian Punjabi playback singer-songwriter.
Early life and career
Jazzy B was born in Nawanshahr, Punjab, India. His family immigrated to Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, when he was five years old. In 1993, Gugiyan Da Jora's first album, Gugiyan Da Jora, was released. Sukhshinder Shinda, a drummer from Punjabi music, suggested that if he wanted a career in Punjabi music, he would move to England. He is a big fan of late singer Kuldeep Manak, which is one of the reasons why Jazzy's album, Maharajas, was released in 2011, with some of Kuldeep's original vocals retained, and several other jazzy and Yudhvir songs sung by Kuldeep Manak.
Jazzy has released 12 studio albums, as well as two religious ones. He has worked on several fronts.
Film career
In 2000, Jazzy made his film debut in Shaheed Udham Singh. In 2006, he appeared in Tesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera With Amisha Patel in the song Chug De Punjabi.
He made his debut with Best of Luck in 2012 as an actor with Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal and Miss India Universe 2008 Simran Kaur Mundi. In May 2012, the shooting of this film in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, began. In 2013, he made a special appearance in Diljit Dosanjh's Jatt & Juliet 2.
He appeared in Romeo Ranjha in 2014. Jazzy suffered serious burns while doing stunts for Romeo Ranjha, wherein he had "near-death" experience. "I literally left my body," he said. I could imagine anyone trying to resuscitate me. My entire life was flashing before my eyes, and I'm not thinking about winning awards or something like that. The only thing I was worried about was that I wanted to live because I didn't want to leave my family so soon."
In 2014, he made a special appearance in Dharmendra's and Gippy Grewal's film Double Di Trouble.
In 2015, he appeared in the title song "Zalim Dilli" of film Dilliwali Zaber's Dilli Girlfriend, starring Hard Kaur.
