Maribel Pérez (born 29 January 1976) is a Belgian-Spanish singer and songwriter best known by her stage name Belle Perez. Mara Isabelle Pérez Cerezo, a Portuguese immigrant born in Neerpelt, Spain, was discovered for her musical abilities by Patrick Renier at a local talent show in 1997 at the age of 21.
Belle's career in music began in 1999 with participation in the Belgian preselections of the Eurovision Song Contest, and from there, Belle's musical career flourished.
She began in pop music but in 2002 she switched to Latino/pop and performed live on stage with her own "Baila Perez"-band.
The album that came with it was a huge success and stayed at the top of the Belgian charts for several weeks. She has a lot of success in Belgium and the Netherlands as of 2006.
In the meantime, she has also become the host of a popular Dutch music festival.
Perez participated in the Belgian tryouts for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, but ended up finishing third place in the Third Place.
