Maia Estianty Life

Maia Estianty (born Maia Ahmad, 27 January 1976), better known as Maia Ahmad during her marriage to fellow musician Ahmad Dhani, is an Indonesian musician, musician, actor, actress, talent show judge, and television presenter. Estianty was born in Surabaya, East Java, and showed a keen interest in music as early as elementary school, winning a marching band competition.

She began training as a disc jockey while in junior high school, and it was around this time that she first encountered Dhani.

Estianty joined Dewa 19 as a backing vocalist after attending the University of Indonesia.

She and Dhani first suggested the formation of the musical duo Ratu in 1999.

The music was performed by Estianty, while other women, first Pinkan Mambo, then Mulan Jameela, sang.

Ratu was a hit.

Estianty formed Duo Maia with Mey Chan after the band's dissolution in 2007 and a bitter divorce in September 2008.

Le Moesik, her label, is now focusing on making music.

Early life

Estianty was born in Surabaya, East Java, on January 27th. She was the fifth of six children born to Harjono Sigit and his partner Kusthini. Through her father's side, she is the great-granddaughter of Tjokroaminoto, a nationalist Muslim leader and National Hero.

Estianty used to fight with her classmates as a child; in an interview with weekly entertainment publication Tabloid Nova, she recalled that she once struck a classmate with an object so hard that the classmate started to bleed profusely. She took up playing music at this moment, leading her marching band to win a national championship; her marching band also took up piano.

Estianty began modeling as a student at State Junior High School 1 in Surabaya, 1990; she received the Yess Modelling Competition for Teenagers, which prompted several modeling requests. She began working part-time at a radio station and learned how to be a disc jockey. A friend introduced her to Ahmad Dhani at a birthday party, and Estianty and Dhani began writing piano songs together. Although she gained good marks in elementary school and junior high school, she began dating in senior high school, first with a classmate then with Dhani, and then with Dhani, and her grades plummeted dramatically.

Estianty and her father began arguing about her work and poor attendance at school as a senior high school age. Estianty threatened to leave; Sigit replied in a way that he would honor her as long as she maintains her studies at a state university. Estianty was accepted at the University of Indonesia, first in the Dutch literature program and later in the communications program. She became a backing vocalist for Dhani's band Dewa 19. In the late 1990s, the two were married.

Personal life

Estianty and Dhani divorced on September 23, 2008. Ahmad Al Ghazali, Ahmad El Jalaluddin Rumi, and Abdul Qodir Jaelani were among the family's three sons who had been married for twelve years and had three children; Ahmad Al Ghazali, Ahmad El Jalaluddin Rumi; and Abdul Qodir Jaelani were not amicable. Estianty lodged a police complaint accusing Dhani of violence, and Dhani refused to give Estianty custody of their children, appealing to the Supreme Court of Indonesia after several lower courts found that the children were Estianty's. Dhani was reportedly in a relationship with Mulan and had a child with her, and Dhani gave Estianty visitation rights in 2012. Maia appealed to the Supreme Court because she couldn't see her children clearly. The Supreme Court ruled on May 14 that the children could choose themselves since they were deemed able to make the decision, which Dhani accepted.

Irwan Mussry, a businesswoman from Tokyo, Japan, married Irwan Mussry on October 29, 2018.

Maia Estianty Career

Career

Estianty and Dhani decided to form a musical pair based on techniques pioneered by international bands like Roxette and Savage Garden in 1999. Pinkan Mambo, a cafet, was chosen to be the second member of the newly formed group, Ratu, which is "Queen" in Indonesian. Ratu's first album, Bersama (Together), was released in 2003, which was inspired by R&B's. Maia wrote seven songs on the album, while Dhani performed the other three. The album was a commercial success, selling 250,000 copies.

Despite the fact that Mambo and Estianty began working on another album, Mambo resigned in 2004 after widespread coverage of her premarital pregnancy. Maia and Dhani were looking for a replacement. Mulan Jameela, a café singer from Bandung who went by the stage name of Mulan Kwok, was accepted by the audience on 7 April 2005; she was announced on September 7th. Ratu and Friends was a band that performed in August in concert with numerous other artists. The album, which featured two songs by Ratu, has sold more than 400,000 copies and was awarded double platinum in Indonesia. The single "Teman Tapi Mesra," often abbreviated TTM and released to promote Ratu and Friends, has come to be used to describe those in a physical, not emotional one.

Maia continued to be a cast member of Extravaganza, a Trans TV-funded comedy program, where she was the first non-Sundanese cast member. Ratu also released Nomor Satu (Number One), which had pop-rock influences; Estianty wrote the majority of the songs. On the day of its debut, the album was a commercial success, with sales of 200,000 copies around the world, a record for a female Indonesian group. Ratu disbanded in 2007. However, despite the disconnect between Dhani and Estianty, as well as questions over Jameela's payment, prompted Ratu to disband in 2007.

Duo Maia is the result of Mey Chan's estianty. They formed Maia and Friends in 2008, which was in direct competition with Jameela's album. Estianty wrote all of the songs on the album. It featured duets with artists including Gita Gutawa, Gigi, and Glenn Fredly. She was one of ten women honoured at the Tribute to Women festival hosted by the ANTARA News Agency this year; other honorees included author Ayu Utami and economist Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

Estianty was a student at Kata Maaf Terakhir (The Last Apology) in 2009 as Dania, the ex-wife to whom Darma (Tio Pakusadewo) must apologise before he dies. Marcel Thee, a writer for The Jakarta Globe, described her appearance as well done. Duo Maia's mother, Sang Juara (The Champion) was born that same year. In an interview with The Jakarta Post, she explained that she had written the titular song after hearing Queen's power ballad "We Are Champions" at a basketball match; she discovered that there were no Indonesian songs that could be used in the same situation. She was a judge on Dream Girls, the international television-sponsored musical talent show, which was exclusive to mothers, along with Dewiq and Agus Wisman.

Estianty founded Le Moesiek in early 2010. Krisdayanti and Julia Perez, two well-known musicians, all signed on quickly. She owned five other ventures at the time, including a steakhouse, an outsourcing firm, and a café. Estianty was revealed in October 2010 to be working on a cover album that featured works performed by Nike Ardilla, Hetty Koes Endang, and Atiek CB. Later this year, she was appointed Ambassador on Domestic Violence by the Indonesian Ministry for Women's Issues later this year. Dhani retaliated against the appointment and threatened to sue the ministry if he offendened accusations that he had violated Estianty.

Estianty announced in April 2012 that, although Duo Maia will perform, she will continue to perform, she intends to concentrate on her work as a producer. She had been working at Le Moesik for the past several months focusing on her managerial roles. In the meantime, Chan will embark on a solo career.
