Yah Hui (born Koh Yah Hwee; 18 May 1987) is a Singaporean actress.

Early life

Ya Hui was born in Singapore on May 18th, 1987. She studied at Manjusri Secondary School and Serangoon Junior College. She joined the Dance Team from primary school to junior college, and was the prom queen during her college days.

Personal life

"Team Yahui" is Ya Hui's official fan club.

Ya Hui was admitted to the hospital on September 24, 2015, possibly due to food poisoning.

Ya Hui can both speak Teochew and basic Cantonese, as shown in her appearance on "Ho Seh Bo."

Career

After the Star Search contest, a large TV talent scouting competition in Singapore in 2007, Ya Hui was offered a job with Mediacorp. During the show season, she was deemed a hit contestant. She was one of the runners-up and the winner of the Miss Telegenic competition at the grand finals. Ya Hui was selected as the face of beverages brand Heaven and Earth's television commercial. Tao Wen Zhu, a veteran actress starring Ivy Lee and Zheng Geping, gained a supporting role in the long-running drama series Love Blossoms II. Bountiful Blessings, Point of Entry, Served H.O.T. (), and Marry Me (), among other English and Mandarin channels (Channel 8, U.K.) dramas.

Ya Hui appeared in Reunion Dinner in 2009, in which she played Chen Liping's daughter. In The New Paper Flame Awards 2008 and the Best Newcomer Award for Performing Artists 2009, for her outstanding work in the drama serials. She finished filming 118, the long-running 255-episode television drama series, which aired weekdays on Mediacorp Channel 8. In 2015, she was also appointed as the Singapore ambassador for the L'Oréal Paris Youth Code.

Ya Hui has ranked 5 out of ten of the Top ten Most Popular Female Artists from 2014, 2017-2021, 2021 respectively.
