Bridgerton's latest leading man Luke Newton, who plays dashing Colin in the Netflix series and once dated the sister of a Love Island star, has seen his career soar since he ditched 'cougar-loving' pop flop to focus on acting

The latest season of the Netflix period drama hits screens on May 16th and promises to be its steamiest yet. Involved in much of the action is dashing Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton. The 19th century aristocrat's love affair with Penelope Featherington is likely to set both Newton and co-star Nicola Coughlan on the path to Hollywood stardom, which is a far cry from Newton's early adventures in fame, when he was one quarter of cheesy boyband South 4, billed as 'Sussex's answer to One Direction'.
