Torrie Anne Wilson (born July 24, 1975) is an American professional wrestler, model, fitness enthusiast, blogger, and actor.

Torrie Wilson is best known for her time in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE, formerly the World Wrestling Federation). Wilson, a fitness enthusiast, won the Miss Galaxy tournament in 1999.

She was signed by World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where she stayed from 1999 to 2000.

She began appearing on World Wrestling Federation (WWF) television in 2001 as part of The Invasion (by WCW) of the [then-] WWF) storyline.

In 2003, she and Dawn Marie feuded for their most high-profile storyline.

Wilson has also been a member of Vince's Devils, an all-female stable (i.e., a group of storyline-related characters), which also includes a male protagonist) since its inception in 2006. Wilson has appeared in many magazines, one starring both Wilson and Sable, aside from pro wrestling. Wilson was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6, 2019.

Early life

Wilson was born in Boise, Idaho. She claims she was painfully shy as she adolescent. Wilson found her niche in numerous school sports, including cheerleading, dancing, and track and field.

Wilson's interest in modeling grew stronger in her sophomore year of high school, and her mother encouraged her to pursue it. Wilson would have to shed weight before being considered for jobs, according to an organization. She started anorexia nervosa and then bulimia that lasted from age 14 to 20.

Wilson got into shape after recovering from the disorder. She began eating six meals a day and then went to work out. In her first competition, she came in third place, and she then won the Miss Galaxy competition in 1998. She then spent some time on the Extreme Fitness Team. Wilson took first place in the Grace and Physique rounds as part of the Women's Tri-Fitness Championships in 1998.

Wilson moved to Los Angeles later in 1998 to pursue acting. She started taking acting lessons and was introduced to an agent who assisted her in finding a few jobs.

Personal life

Wilson claims she did not watch wrestling when she was younger, but she claims she has become a Hugh Hogan fan since being involved in the sport. Wilson was on the road for 300 days a year while working with WWE. Chloe, a Maltese, was with her when she went on vacation. Wilson spent at least four days a week on the road. Usually, her workout consisted of an hour of cardiovascular workouts and a half-hour of lifting weights. Wilson has a close friendship with Stacy Keibler. They were roommates in Los Angeles, California, at one time.

Wilson married Peter Gruner (known on film as Billy Kidman) on July 11, 2003 after being on dates for four years. When not traveling, they lived in Tampa, Florida. In 2008, the couple separated.

Wilson and Nick Mitchell, a former WWE wrestler who was known as "Mitch" of the Spirit Squad, introduced "Officially Jaded" in September 2007. The couple began dating in mid-2006 while Billy Kidman was still married. In the upscale Market Street district of The Woodlands, Texas, she opened a store. Torrie appeared at the inaugural Wrestler's Rescue Festival in Piscataway, New Jersey, on September 14, 2008. The aim was to raise funds to help support the health care needs of veteran professional wrestlers.

Wilson dated Alex Rodriguez, the third baseman for the New York Yankees, from 2011 to 2015. Wilson married Justin Tupper on September 19, 2019.

She began working as a wrestling coach and blogger after resigning from wrestling.

Wilson's father, Al Wilson, died on April 4, 2019, just two days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Torrie Wilson Career

Professional wrestling career

Wilson's interest in wrestling began when she and her boyfriend appeared at a World Championship Wrestling (WCW) show in 1999. She was asked to leave the ring with Scott Steiner after going backstage. Kevin Nash expressed an interest in doing a storyline with her later. She appeared on Nitro's February 8, 1999, (later named "Samantha") for the first time. Wilson was brought into the New World Order (nWo) to coerce David Flair to turn against his father, Ric Flair, according to the storyline. Wilson slapped Ric on February 21, and David zapped him with a taser when they met together in SuperBrawl IX. After Ric took the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from Hollywood Hogan at Uncensored inside a Barbed Wire Cage match, David and Wilson took some time off from television in April to accompany David to the ring for matches. Wilson acted as a valet for Flair at the 1999 Bash at the Beach, defeating Dean Malenko in the WCW Heavyweight Championship.

Wilson continued to accompany David to the ring until October, when David discovered Wilson was in the Filthy Animals' locker room chatting with Billy Kidman, which culminated in a feud between Flair and Kidman. Wilson turned on him on the octagon and the Animals were beaten; after the Animals stopped attacking David, Wilson was left with the Filthy Animals; Wilson lost the match and the Animals were defeated on Saturday. Wilson began supervising Kidman and his Filthy Animals colleagues around this time. As a result, she became embroiled in the Animals' continuing feud with The Revolution. Kidman and Eddie Guerrero were seen flirting inside his locker room on the "Kidcam," a undercover camera segment that culminated in a storyline feud between Kidman and Guerrero. Wilson appeared on television again after this. Wilson appeared on Thunder managing Kidman in January 19, 2000, and Kidman and Wilson joined the New Blood in April 2000, making them both villainous characters. Kidman became envious of Wilson's growing fascination with fellow New Blood member Horace Hogan as part of their latest storyline. Wilson hit Kidman at the Great American Bash in June, causing him to fall to Horace's uncle, Hulk Hogan.

Wilson was taken off of television following the confrontation, reappearing at the Beach in July during a match between Shane Douglas and Buff Bagwell. Wilson and Douglas were left together after the match, sparking a feud between Kidman and Douglas. Wilson, Wilson, and Douglas all won a mixed tag team match against Kidman and Madusa in September, with scaffolding erected above the ring. Wilson was banned from WCW in December 2000.

Wilson made her television debut as a heel on SmackDown's June 28, 2001 episode. In 2001, I was part of The Alliance during the Invasion period. She portrayed Vince McMahon's new venture in her first storyline for the company. She has also worked with fellow WCW artist Stacy Keibler on a regular basis. The pair made their wrestling debuts in a Bra and Panties match against Lita and Trish Stratus, which Stratus and Lita won by stripping Keibler and Wilson of their yellow and white bikinis in a Invasion pay-per-view match. Wilson defeated Stratus in a Paddle on a Pole match the next night on Raw. Wilson, despite her relative inexperience in wrestling, regularly clashed with the Divas, as well as intervening in matches on behalf of other wrestlers in The Alliance.

When her character began an on-screen romance with Tajiri, she became a star in the Invasion storyline. Wilson's nefarious Stacy Keibler turned against Wilson, and Wilson left the WWF as a result. In the first lingerie match at No Mercy, Wilson defeated Keibler. Wilson was sent to SmackDown when the company's first brand separation took place in March 2002. Tajiri later became jealous over Wilson's growing interest as a result of her male gaze, so he coerced her to wear a geisha costume, and he also mistreat her in matches. She depantized Rico on the SmackDown version of SmackDown, which was released on April 25, 2002. Wilson got sick of this, and during Tajiri's match against The Hurricane, she climbed to the top of the announcer's table and stripped off her clothes. The Hurricane was able to win despite the chaos. Billy Kidman defeated John Cena and Dawn Marie in an intergender tag team match at Rebellion, Wilson, and her real life partner at the time. Wilson and Kidman kissed after the match. Wilson then took her first WWE Women's Championship match on SmackDown! Molly Holly, the Women's Champion, came on to interrupt Wilson's photoshoot and challenge her to a competition in which Wilson was unsuccessful in winning.

Wilson began a tumultuous rivalry with Dawn Marie in September 2002, where Dawn will begin a friendship with Wilson's real-life father Al Wilson. Wilson and Rikishi teamed up on October 17 in a losing effort to Dawn and Matt Hardy's team. Dawn would marry Al soon after and told Wilson that if she spent a night in a hotel room with her, she would break it off, but Dawn would later reveal this was a lie. Dawn will eventually film footage of this at Armageddon. Dawn and Al were married on SmackDown's January 2 episode, and the feud continued into 2003. They're wearing underwear. After having extensive sex multiple times in succession on their honeymoon, Al then, a week later, died from a heart attack. In what was described as a Stepmother vs. Stepdaughter match, Wilson defeated Dawn to put an end to the feud at the Royal Rumble.

Wilson appeared in a pictorial and on the front page of Playboy magazine in May 2003. A few months before, when her pictorial was revealed, a brief storyline feud with Nidia ensued, with the former being jealous of Wilson's selection for the cover and spread in the magazine. Both Nidia and her on-screen boyfriend Jamie Noble went to The Playboy Mansion to speak to Hugh Hefner about his pick in weekly vignettes on SmackDown!

On the SmackDown!

During a segment branded as Wilson's Playboy Coming Out Party, former WrestleMania XIX veteran Diva and Playboy covergirl Sable made her WWE debut after a four-year absence. Sable played mind games with Wilson for weeks, being friendly one moment and unfriendly the next. All of this led to a bikini competition between the two teams on Judgment Day, which Wilson won. Wilson kissed the former Women's Champion Sable on the lips, indicating that Wilson had "no bad feelings" as a result of Wilson's victory over the WWE veteran. Wilson, a former wrestler and Nidia from earlier this year, fired Billy Gunn on his WWE debut in 2003. After Nidia and Noble became fan favorites and sided with Gunn and Wilson, the feud came to an end. Wilson, Nidia, and Dawn Marie feuded with Shaniqua for a brief period of time, which culminated in Shaniqua's physically dominating Wilson and Nidia in a handicap match.

Wilson first joined Sable in March 2004 to clash with Raw Divas Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie. Wilson and Sable's enmity as Playboy cover girls, as well as their newly announced cover girls being featured together in a forthcoming Playboy March 2004 issue, centered on the feud's plot line. Wilson and Sable defeated Keibler and Miss Jackie in a Playboy Evening Gown match at WrestleMania XX, stripping their opponents of their evening gowns after weeks of rivalry. On the SmackDown version of April 29, Wilson defeated Rene Dupree to a draw. Wilson and Dawn began a second feud in May. The two teams met for the first time as part of the feud, with Wilson's career on the line at the time. Kurt Angles, Wilson's stipulation for the match on Judgment Day, which Wilson defeated Dawn to keep her career alive, was at the time. Wilson later in the year, she was embroiled in a brief feud with Sable, who beaten her at The Great American Bash. Sable was defeated by Wilson in a rematch on July 1 of SmackDown. Wilson started feuding with Hiroko in November. Wilson teamed up with Rey Mysterio and Rob Van Dam in a winless battle against Hiroko, Kenzo Suzuki, and Rene Dupree on the December 2 episode of SmackDown!

On a special episode of SmackDown on February 10, 2005! Torrie defeated Hiroko in a kimono match by removing her kimono first, a record set in Saitama, Japan, on February 4th. Torrie was then embroiled in a brief feud with MNM valet Melina. The two of them met in a bra and panties match against Candice Michelle, the special guest referee, on July 24 at The Great American Bash, in which Wilson was defeated. On the 28th episode of SmackDown!, Melina was once more victorious.

Wilson and Candice Michelle had been relocated to the Raw brand as a part of a trade in exchange for Stacy Keibler and Christy Hemme, according to the company's August 22, 2005. Wilson and Candice turned heel on the night by kicking 2005 Diva Search champion Ashley Massaro. Massaro's feud with Her and Candice raged for the next two weeks as the pair, as well as their enforcer Victoria (dubbed "Skankateers" by Trish Stratus, made life difficult for Massaro. Wilson defeated Massaro after invasion from Victoria and Candice on the September 5 episode of Raw. Massaro also weighed in on the live action on September 12, 2005, when she introduced the returning Stratus and the pair continued to strike the heels. Wilson and Victoria lost in a losing bid to Stratus and Massaro later that night. Unforgiven's tag team clash culminated in a tag team brawl, where Stratus and Massaro's team defeated Wilson and Victoria. Wilson was stunned by Stratus on Raw the night before. Wilson, Victoria, and Candice came after the game to attack Massaro and Stratus. In the first three on two Bra and Panties matches, the feud continued to fester in WWE Homecoming, where Stratus and Massaro defeated Wilson, Candice, and Victoria.

Wilson had been on WWE television for a long time after this, sparking rumors and fake claims that she had been booted from WWE. In reality, she had taken a leave of absence to tend to some "personal problems." Wilson was taken aback by the rumors after some media employees offered to assist her in finding jobs. On their website, WWE released a note condemning the allegations, which Wilson also mentioned. She joked that she had to "call the WWE office and ask them if they didn't fire me" in the tweet.

Wilson returned to Raw on October 17, where she, Candice and Victoria met against the team of Stratus, Massaro, and their new friend Mickie James in a thrilling contest after Wilson pinned James. Wilson's crew was victorious.

Wilson developed an on-screen friendship with Carlito in the final months of 2006. Wilson appeared in a No. 1 Contenders Diva Battle Royal that was fought by Victoria on November 27. Wilson was defeated by Victoria on the December 11 episode of Raw, but after the match, Chris Masters proceeded to place Wilson in a Masterlock before she was saved by Carlito, Wilson was stunned by Carlito. Ric Flair took an interest in Carlito, and Wilson accompanied the pair in a series of tag matches. Wilson was defeated by then Women's Champion Melina after the match Melina was suspended by Victoria, Melina tried to escape but was stopped by Ashley Massaro on March 12 episode of Raw. Carlito retaliate against Flair and sacked Wilson in May 2007 when he became a heel. Vince McMahon chuckled her out of a match teaming up with Carlito, a feat she lost on the Raw's June 4, 2007.
