Sumanth Kumar Life

Sumanth Kumar (Born Sumanth Kumar) is an Indian actor/producer known mostly for his work in Telugu cinema.

Late Akkineni Nageswara Rao's eldest grandson is also a partner in Annapurna Studios.

He is best known for his role in the films Satyam, Gowri, Godavari, Madhumasam, Golconda High School, and most recently Malli Raava.

Background and early life

Sumanth was born in Hyderabad, India, on February 9, 1975. He is Surendra Yarlagadda and Satyavathi Akkineni's only son and the eldest grandchild of Telugu film actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Sumanth's parents' parents returned to the United States, where they had been residing just a few months after his birth. Sumanth, on the other hand, remained in India on the request of his grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who was then on a film hiatus after a major heart surgery. The former actor had often said that his busy acting career prevented him from fully experiencing fatherhood with his own children, so he wanted to raise his first grandchild himself. Sumanth was adopted by his maternal grandparents later on.

Surendra Yarlagadda, Sumanth's father, is known for making several hit films, including Shiva, Rao Gari Illu, Gaayam, Muchattaga Mugguru, and Collector Gari Abbayi. Supriya Yarlagadda, who is the executive director of Annapurna Studios, has 1 younger sister. Nagarjuna Akkineni is his maternal uncle; producer D. Ramanaidu is his uncle from his paternal side. Daggubati has produced Daggubati, Renkatesh Daggubati, Naga Chaitanya, Akhil Akkineni, and Sushanth are his cousins.

Sumanth married actress Keerthi Reddy in August 2004. They were divorced amicably in 2006, however, they were not resigned amicably.

Sumanth studied at the Hyderabad Public School, graduating in 1991. He enrolled in a Michigan engineering degree for his undergraduate work. From where he obtained a B.A. in Film Studies in 1997, he realized after two years that it wasn't in his best interest.

Sumanth Kumar Career

Career

Sumanth changed his direction completely in 2006 after the disaster Dhana 51 and the above average Mahanandi with Anushka Shetty, appearing in Sekhar Kammula's romantic comedy/drama Godavari. It's one of his career's most well-known films. In addition to receiving rave reviews and box office success, the company went on to win multiple Nandi and Filmfare awards. Sumanth received a large urban and NRI following, and is often described as a modern-day classic.

Sumanth's next film was Chinnodu, the classic running action/family romance. He appeared in two films in 2007: Madhumasam and Classmates. The former, a romantic comedy/drama starring Sneha, was a hit, but the latter did not do well, despite positive reviews. The action/drama Pourudu starring Kajal Aggarwal in early 2008 proved to be a modest success. It was especially praised for its action sequences. However, Kriti Kharbanda's next film, the action/romance Boni, was released in mid 2009 but failed at the box office.

Sumanth made a dramatic debut in Golconda High School in 2011, directed by national award-winning Indraganti Mohan Krishna. It was based on the English novel The Men Within, written by ex-cricketer Harimohan Paruvu, and it is considered one of Telugu's first sports dramas. On January 15, 2011, it was announced as a commercial success as well as critical acclaim. Both reviewers and audience applauded Sumanth's portrayal of a cricket coach with a chequered history, making it one of his finest performances.

Sumanth's next film was Raaj, which came out in March 2011, but it failed miserably at the box office. Sumanth confessed after its premiere that he wasn't expecting much from this film because it was plagued by several issues during production. He appeared in Daggaraga Dooranga, a romance/thriller directed by Ravi Kumar Chavali, but it was another disappointment. Sumanth teamed up with director Chandra Siddhartha for the romantic comedy Emo Gurram Egaravachu in 2013. The audience responded well to it on January 25th, 2014. Critics generally applauded Sumanth's entry into the comedy genre, although the critics gave it scathing praise. The romantic comedy Naruda Donoruda, the Hindi remake of Vicky Donor's hit, followed. It was released in November 2016, but it wasn't particularly well-received. Economic demonetization, which came into operation a few days after its inception, was one of the principal reasons for the box office's demise.

Sumanth made a good comeback with the romantic drama Malli Raava, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, after a string of disappointments. It was praised on publication on December 8, 2017, and a box office was also hit. Some commentators even went to the point of naming it his best film to date. Sumanth's appearance was also lauded, and the Telugu Chamber of Film/Commerce awarded the best actor award. In addition, the film also received awards in the best film and best director categories.

Sumanth's next film project was a supernatural mystery/thriller written by debutant Santhossh Jagarlapudi. It was announced on December 7, 2018 and generated mixed feedback and turned out a better than par grosser. The drama/thriller Idam Jagath, which didn't do so well, was followed by this. In the N. T. Rao biopic NTR: Kathanayakudu directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, he was later seen playing his grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao. This film debuted on January 9, 2019 to critical acclaim, but it was later dismissed as a box office failure. Both quarters lauded Sumanth's portrayal in his first supporting role. He appeared in the investigative drama Kapatadhaari, which was published on 19 February 2021 with some encouraging critical acclaim, and his work as a traffic cop was widely lauded.

Sumanth has completed shooting for a gangster action comedy titled Waltair Seenu, in which he plays the lead, and it is set to be released shortly. Manu Yagnaa's production has been directing it.

Malli Modalaindi, a romantic comedy directed by Keerthi Kumar TG and released by ED Entertainments in February 2022 as a lead in his first film as a lead, was his most recent film as a lead. Despite receiving mainly critical feedback, it was announced as a success.

He was most recently seen in a vital supporting role in Sita Ramam, a war romance drama starring Dulquer Salmaan. Sumanth's role earned a lot of praise, and it was a runaway critical and commercial hit.

In addition, Sumanth is also playing the lead role in Prashant Sagar Atluri's drama thriller Aham Reboot, which is written and directed by Prashant Sagar Atluri.

Sumanth has expressed an interest in future roles as author backed by many people and negative, while still doing lead roles.
