Sanjay Dutt Career

Career

In 1981, Dutt made his Bollywood debut with the box-office super hit Rocky. Dutt went on to star in Vidhaata, the highest-grossing Hindi film of 1982, as well as film veterans Dilip Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, and Sanjeev Kumar. He has appeared in films like Main Awara Hoon (1983). He shot Jaan Ki Baazi in 1985, his first film in two years.

The 1986 film Naam, which was a turning point in Dutt's career, was a major critical and commercial success. Dutt appeared in many successful films in the 1980s, including Imaandaar, Inaam Dus Hazaar, Jeete Hain Se (1988), Ilaaka (1989), Kanoon Apna (1989), and Taaqatwar.

Critics also lauded his performances in Kabzaa (1988) and J. P. Dutta's Hathyar (1989), but both films were only released in limited collections at the box office. He appeared in a number of multi-starrers alongside top actors like Govinda, Mithun, Dharmendra, Jackie Shroff, and Sunny Deol in the late 1980s.

Tejaa, Khatarnaak, Zahreelay, Thanedaar, Khoon Ka Karz, Yalgaar, Gumrah, Sahibaan, and Aatish are among his productions from the 1990s. Feel the Fire, Tejaa. He went on to appear in some of the early 1990s' most influential Indian films, including Sadak, Saajan (for which he was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor) and Khalnayak, which received his second Filmfare Award for Best Actor nomination.

"Dutt's earlier films (like Naam and Sadak) attracted a lot of praise," the Hindu wrote, and "Saajan brought Dutt to life as the traditional soft hero." "Saajan was the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1991, and Sadak was the fifth highest grosser of 1991." Khalnayak became a blockbuster and was the second-highest earner of 1993. This was followed by another box office triumph, Gumrah, Dutt's second straight hit of the year.

Bombay (now Mumbai) suffered a string of serial bombings in 1993. Among the many people suspected of being involved in Bollywood, Dutt was one of several people suspected of being complicit. Dutt was accused of accepting weapons at his Abu Salem home, as well as co-accused Riyaz Sidddiqui, who had also been implicated in connection with the Mumbai blasts. The arms were said to be part of a massive consignment of arms related to the terrorists, according to the terrorists. In his confession, Dutt said he took just one Type-56 from the makers of his film Sanam for his own family's security. Sunil Dutt's political rivalry, according to Sanjay Dutt's, resulted in his deposition. Daud (1997) was Dutt's first film since his 1993 release. Despite receiving a lot of media, it did average business at the box office. Dushman followed this, which was also do very well financially.

Dutt had a fruitful year and one that is widely regarded as his comeback, with most of his five films being among the top-grossing films of the year. He began by appearing in the Mahesh Bhatt-directed film Kartoos, followed by Khoobsurat, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Daag: The Fire and Vaint, which received many accolades, including his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor. His participation in Mission Kashmir in 2000 earned him critical acclaim and a slew of awards and accolades. The President of India had also welcomed Dutt to Rashtrapati Bhavan for his role in the film.

He continued to play lead roles in critical and commercial films such as Jodi No.1 (2001), Pitaah (2002), Kaante (2002), and Munna Bhai M.B.S. He received several awards for his work as a (2003) actor. Munna Bhai M.B.S. is a registered employee of the prestigious box office. One of only eight films to have earned this distinction since 2000, and has earned a silver jubilee (25-week run). The film may still be seen on 257 screens throughout India in its 26th week of release. Musafir (2004), Plan (2004), Parineeta (2005), and Dus (2005) were among the later winners. He has also been recognized for his work in Shabd (2005) and Zinda.

On September 1, 2006, the sequel to Munna Bhai, Layout Raho Munna Bhai, was announced, alongside an award from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his work in the Munna Bhai series. Munna Bhai was one of India's top 20 fictional characters. Later Dutt appeared in films including Dhamaal (2007), Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), All the Best (2009), Son of Sardaar (2012) and PK.

The Indian film Institute Filmfare (ITF) released 12 films starring Dutt in its top 100 highest-grossing films of all time in January 2008. Filmfare ranked three films starring Dutt in its top 20 list of top-grossing Hindi films of all time, adjusted for inflation. These films, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Khalnayak, and Saajan were among the top 20 films in the country's top 20 list of top-grossing Hindi films of all time, adjusted for inflation.

The third part of the Munna Bhai film, starring Dutt in the title role, will launch shortly, according to Vidhu Vinod Chopra on September 29th. In 2017, Dutt took the lead in Bhoomi, directed by Omung Kumar. He appeared in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3. In 2018, it was also announced that Dutt would appear alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor in Shamshera, which will be released on July 22nd 2022. Sanju's biopic Sanju was published on June 29th, 2018 in which he made a special appearance. In Sadak 2 in 2019, Dutt appeared alongside Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film was universally condemned, with some claiming it to be one of Dutt's worst films in his career. He appeared in Bhuj: The Pride of India, a historical film in which an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, and Nora Fatehi appeared. On September 20, he was seen in the film Prassthanam. In K.G.F. Chapter 2, the sequel to the blockbuster Kannada film, Adheera, made his debut in Kannada cinema, Dutt played Adheera. As of June 20, the film is India's third highest-grossing film.
