Ram Pothineni, an Indian film actor best known for his appearances in Telugu cinema, is best known for his work in Telugu cinema.

He is nephew of film director Sravanthi Kishore. Pothineni made his film debut in 2006 with Devadasu, a romantic comedy film that became a blockbuster at the box office.

He received the Best Male Debut - South award for his role in the film.

Pothineni has come to fame as a leader in critical and commercial triumphs, including Ready (2008), Maska (2009), Kandireega (2011), Pandaga (2015), Nenu Sailaja (2016), Vunna Prema Prema (2018), and iSmart Shankar (2019).

Ram Pothineni was born in Hyderabad on May 1988 to Murali Pothineni. He is the nephew of Telugu film producer Sravanthi Kishore. Sharwanand is his cousin.

Career

Pothineni was first seen in the Tamil language short film Adayaalam (2002), where he appeared as an 18-year-old heroin addict. He made his theatrical debut in 2006 with Devadasu. Sukumar directed Jagadam opposite Isha Sahani in his second film. He then appeared in Ready alongside Genelia D'Souza, which was a commercial success. Maska and Ganesh: Just Ganesh, he had two releases in 2009. Rama Rama Krishna Krishna, only one of Dil Raju's creations and directed by Srivaas, was released in 2010.

Kandireega (2011) was Pothineni's next film. He appeared in Endukante... Premanta! Developing by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, Tamannaah, is a film produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, directed by Karunakaran and produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore. Pothineni appeared in Ongole Githa in 2013 with Kriti Kharbanda, directed by Bhaskar and directed by B.V.S.N. Prasad. In the same year, he co-starred alongside Venkatesh in the action comedy Masala, the Hindi film Bol Bachchan's remake starring K. Vijaya Bhaskar and jointly produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore and D. Suresh Babu.

Pothineni appeared in two films, Pandaga Chesko and Shivam, in 2015. Although Gopichand Malineni's Pandaga Chesko was a commercial success, Shivam was one of his career's greatest failures. He had two releases in 2016, one produced by his own production house Sri Sravanthi Movies, Nenu Sailaja, which was a commercial success, and Santosh Srinivas-directed Hyper, which was an average at the box office.

Vunnadhi Zindagi, the 2017 coming-of-age film, received mixed feedback. In 2018, he appeared in Trinadha Rao Nakkina's romantic comedy Hello Guru Prema Kosame. In 2019, he worked with director Puri Jagannadh on the action thriller iSmart Shankar. After a string of failures, Pothineni had a blast with the film. It was his highest grosser in his career's career, earning over 900 crore.

The remake of Tamil film Thadam (2018) is a remake of his 2021 film, where he appeared in a dual role. He appeared in the Lingusamy-directed The Warriorr, where he played a police officer. Criticize the film, but it was a commercial failure.

Pothineni has been cast in Boyapati Srinu's #RAPO20. It would be his first pan-India film.
