Club career

Leo, a boy from Almada, Settler District, joined Sporting CP's youth service at the age of nine after a brief stay in Amora. In a 1–1 away draw against Braga B., he made his senior debut with the reserves on May 21.

Jorge Jesus, Leo's father, appeared in the Primeira Liga for the first time on February 11, 2018, swapping Bryan Ruiz for the last 21 minutes of the 2–0 home victory over Feirense. He equalized for the visitors a few minutes after taking the field but lost by 2–1 away to Porto on March 2nd, becoming the club's youngest-ever scorer against that opposition.
