Justin Kluivert Career

Club career

Kluivert was born in Amsterdam and received his first professional deal with Ajax through AFC Ajax's youth program. In a game against MVV on September 16, he made his Eerste Divisie debut with Jong Ajax, beating Vince Gino Dekker in the 67th minute in a 1–0 away loss. He appeared in the 2016–17 UEFA Youth League, winning by 2–0 group stage at PAOK on November 2nd.

Kluivert's first team appearance in the EIzwan on January 15, 2017 after defeating PEC Zwolle in the 39th minute. On March 19, he scored his first E-goal against SBV Excelsior, just 10 years and one day after his father's last career goal. The match came to a 1-1 draw. He made six appearances in the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League, and he was an ineffective substitute in the final, a 2–0 loss to Manchester United in Stockholm.

Kluivert opened his account for the season with a hat-trick over Roda JC on Friday, November 26th.

Kluivert's dad, Francesco Totti, moved to Roma, Italy, on June 12, 2018, following a telephone call from Roma legend Francesco Totti to his father at €18.75 million. He was the fifth Dutch player to represent the Italian team. Kluivert wore the number 34 shirt number at Roma as a tribute to his good friend and fellow teammate Abdelhak Nouri, who wore it at Ajax; Nouri suffered a career-ending heart rhythm in 2017.

After scoring his fourth goal in a 5–0 home victory over Viktoria Plze on October 3, 2018, Kluivert became the youngest Roma player to score in the UEFA Champions League. It was his first effort for the Giallorossi, and he dedicated it to Nouri. In a 3–2 home win over Genoa on December 16, he scored for the first time in Serie A.

Kluivert lowered his shirt number to 99 for the 2019–20 season, reflecting the year he was born.

Kluivert joined Bundesliga club RB Leipzig on a season-long loan on October 5th, 2020. In a 3-3 away draw against Bayern Munich on December 5, he scored his first Bundesliga goal. In a 3–2 victory over Manchester United in the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League, he scored a goal on December 8th.

Kluivert joined French Ligue 1 club Nice on season-long loan with an option to buy on July 2021.

Kluivert landed on loan with Valencia, Spain, from September 1 to 2322. He was refused a work permit in England a few days before, which eventually caused his transfer to Fulham.

International career

Kluivert was active in the tournament, in which the Netherlands qualified to the semi finals at the 2016 Under 17 Euros hosted in Azerbaijan.

In March 2018, Kluivert received his first full international call-up in Ronald Koeman's first Dutch national football team's first Dutch national football team for the friendlies against England and Portugal. In a 3–0 victory over Portugal, the reigning European champions, beat him in a 3–0 victory, replacing Memphis Depay for the final 12 minutes of the game.

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil refuses to criticise Stuart Attwell after coming under fire AGAIN for disallowing Hwang Hee-chan's goal against Bournemouth - just days after VAR controversy with Nottingham Forest

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 25, 2024
Wolves boss Gary O'Neil offered his sympathy to referee Stuart Attwell after the beleaguered match official was embroiled in more controversy in Bournemouth's 1-0 win at Molineux. Attwell has been in the spotlight for his role as VAR in denying Nottingham Forest three penalties in Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Everton, which led Forest to insinuate bias as he supports relegation rivals Luton. And controversy followed him around after he adjudged Matheus Cunha to have fouled Justin Kluivert in an off-the-ball incident in the build-up to Hee Chan Hwang's second-half equaliser, which looked to have cancelled out Antoine Semenyo's first-half opener.

Man United fans are left fuming at the state of Bournemouth's pitch during 2-2 draw as they claim the Cherries made it a 'swimming pool' to halt Erik ten Hag's side

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 14, 2024
Manchester United fans were left fuming at the state of Bournemouth 's pitch during their 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium. Erik ten Hag 's men had to fight from behind twice to claim a point as their winless run continued into their fourth successive game.

Furious Andoni Iraola claims Bournemouth were ROBBED of a stoppage-time penalty against Manchester United... and insists his side 'deserved to win' after 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 13, 2024
Andoni Iraola insisted Bournemouth were robbed of a stoppage-time penalty last night, as Erik ten Hag made a hasty exit from his press conference when quizzed on Manchester United facing their worst finish in a Premier League season. United dropped to seventh in the table and have never finished lower in the competition, but they could fall to eighth if West Ham can beat Fulham today. Ten Hag's visitors relied on Bruno Fernandes to avoid losing at the Vitality Stadium with the captain equalising twice after Dominic Solanke and Justin Kluivert each gave Bournemouth the lead. Fernandes's second goal arrived from the penalty spot after Kobbie Mainoo 's shot deflected on to the arm of Adam Smith - a handball which Iraola insisted was 'very harsh'.
