Priyanka Chopra Career

Acting career

Chopra was chosen female protagonist in Abbas-Mustan's romantic thriller Humraaz (2002), in which she would make her film debut. However, this went off for various reasons: she said that the production was behind schedule, while the designers announced that Chopra had to recast due to various other commitments. Vijay played her in the 2002 Tamil film Thamizhan as the protagonist's love interest. According to a review published in The Hindu, the film was appreciative for its wisdom and discussion; however, Chopra's presence was restricted from an acting viewpoint.

In Anil Sharma's The Hero: A Spy, Chopra made her Bollywood debut in 2003 as the second female lead opposite Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. The film, shot against the background of the Indian Army in Kashmir, tells the tale of an RAW agent's fight against terrorism. The Hero came out as one of the year's top-grossing Bollywood films, but critics mixed on it. "Mega-looker Chopra makes a good debut" on television, according to Variety's Derek Elley. She appeared in Raj Kanwar's box-office success Andaaz with Akshay Kumar in the female lead with debutante Lara Dutta later this year. Chopra played a vivacious young woman who falls in love with Kumar's character. Kunal Shah of Sify praised her appearance and said she had "all the characteristics to be a queen," the Hindustan Times praised her. Her appearance earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut (along with Dutta) and a Best Supporting Actress nomination.

Plan, Kismat, and Asambhav, Chopra's first three launches in 2004—Plan, Kismat, and Asambhav—performed poorly at the box office. Chopra was usually cast during this earlier period as a "glamour quotient" in roles that were deemed unreliable by film critic Joginder Tuteja. Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar appeared in David Dhawan's romantic comedy Mujhse Karogi, which opened to commercial success and became India's third-highest-grossing film of the year.

In late 2004, she appeared alongside Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in Abbas-Mustan's romantic drama Aitraaz. Chopra explores her debut as an antagonist, portrayed Soniya Roy, an outspoken woman who suspects her employee of sexual assault, as the "biggest learning experience of her career." Chopra's role was praised in critical and commercial terms, and it gained critical acclaim. The Hindustan Times cited it as the film that changed her career in a major way. "Aitraaz is Chopra's film," a BBC commenter said. She is captivated by her magnetic screen presence as the delectable, gold mining, scheming seductress. She was named Best Performance in a Negative Role by the Filmfare Academy, becoming the second and final actress to receive the award after Kajol (the category was discontinued in 2008). Chopra also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress and the Producers Guild Film Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Chopra appeared in six films in 2005. Blackmail and Karam's first two films, as the action thrillers, were both widely distributed and commercially unsuccessful. Shilpa Bharatan-Iyer of Rediff.com found Blackmail to be a predictable film, and believed that her role as a police commissioner's wife was limited from an acting standpoint. Subhash K. Jha wrote that Chopra "with her poised portrayal of high drama, creates a person whose vulnerability and beauty are lauded both the inner and outer worlds developed for her character." Chopra, the wife of Akshay Kumar in Vipul Amrutlal Shah's family drama, wants to teach his irresponsible son some lessons before he dies. Chopra revisited Leh, one of his childhood haunts, for the shooting of "Subah Hogi." She electrocuted herself while filming "Do Me A Favourite Let's Play Holi" and spent a day in hospital. Critics loved the film, and it was a commercial success.

She appeared in the romantic mystery thriller Yakeen's next generation, portraying a possessive lover. Critical reaction to the film was split, but her performance deserved praise. Chopra "is likely to win laurels once more," Taran Adarsh said, "the actor is emerging as one of the finest talents in today's turbulent times." Suneel Darshan's romance Barsaat, co-starring Bobby Deol and Bipasha Basu, was her next release. The film in India was a critical and commercial failure, but it did better in the overseas market. Chopra's appearance received mixed feedback, with Bollywood Hungama describing it as "mechanical." However, Rediff.com regarded Chopra as a "epitome of calm intelligence" who underplayed her role to perfection." Rohan Sippy co-starred Abhishek Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Nana Patekar in the comedy Bluffmaster later this year. Chopra portrayed Simran Saxena, Bachchan's love interest. The film, which was a box-office hit, was a hit at the box office.

Chopra appeared in Rakesh Roshan's superhero film Krrish (a sequel to 2003 science-fiction film Koi Mil Gaya), beginning in 2006. Chopra, co-starring Hrithik Roshan, Rekha, and Naseeruddin Shah, played a young television journalist who plans to exploit an innocent young man with impressive physical characteristics, but eventually falls in love with him. The film was India's second-highest-grossing film of the year and earned over 1.1 billion (US$15 million) worldwide, achieving blockbuster status. Akshaye Khanna, Ameesha Patel, and Dino Morea were co-starring Akshaye Khanna, Dharmesh Darshan's romantic comedy Aap Ki Khatir. Neither the film nor Chopra's roles were well received. Chopra's portrayal of Anu was "erratically sketched" and that her character was never consistent, according to Sukanya Verma of Rediff.com: "first flaky, then cool, and later, sensitive."

Farhan Akhtar's last film of the year in 2006 was Farhan Akhtar's action-thriller Don (a remake of the 1978 film of the same name), starring Shah Rukh Khan. Chopra portrayed Roma (played by Zeenat Aman in the original film), who returns to retaliate Don for murdering her brother. Chopra underwent martial art training for her role in the film and performed her own stunts. The film was praised as a box-office hit in India and overseas, with total revenues of 1.05 billion (US$13 million). Chopra was the film's "big surprise," according to Raja Sen. He believed Chopra convincingly portrayed Roma as "looking every bit the intelligent woman of action." Not to mention the wonderful smiles.

Chopra appeared in two leading roles in 2007. Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love, Nikhil Advani's first film, was a romantic comedy-drama with an ensemble cast. In the first chapter, she was portrayed alongside Salman Khan as Kamini, an article girl and aspiring actress who is attempting to land the lead role in a Karan Johar film with a publicity gimmick. Sukanya Verma, a film critic, praised her ability for comedy, particularly her portrayals of Meena Kumari, Nargis, and Madhubala. Both Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love and her upcoming film, Big Brother, were unprofitable at the domestic box office.

Chopra starred opposite Harman Baweja in his father's Love Story 2050 in 2008. Chopra dyed her hair twice, once red to represent the girl from the future and then black for the girl from the past. Rajeev Masand's co-star was unimpressed by Chopra's chemistry with her co-star, who said that her character "no inspires neither love nor sympathy." She appeared in God Tussi Great Ho for the second time, playing a TV anchor opposite Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan. Chopra also appeared in Chamku opposite Bobby Deol and Irrfan Khan, and in Goldie Behl's fantasy superhero film Drona opposite Abhishek Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, she starred as Sonia. Chopra's sixth film in succession was largely criticized for the use of special effects, both in the box-office and critically, but Rediff.com's Sukanya Verma said Chopra's demonstrated convincing action heroine skills. Critics generally agreed that her career was over at this point.

Chopra appeared in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion, a film about the Indian fashion industry that followed the lives and careers of many fashion actresses, ending with a string of poorly received films. She played Meghna Mathur, an actress she first felt was out of her reach, but after six months of consideration, inspired by Bhandarkar's enthusiasm, she accepted the role. Chopra had to gain 6 kilograms (13 lb) and gradually shed the weight during the role as the role progressed in the film. Both the film and her performance were recognized by critics, who found it to be a turning point in her career. Rajeev Masand said she "turns in a respectable performance in a role that will eventually rank as her best." She received multiple awards, including the National Film Award for Best Actress, the IIFA Award for Best Actress, and the Producers Guild Film Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, among other categories. Fashion made a worldwide success of 600 million dollars (US$8 million), and Subhash K. Jha named it as one of the decade's best films with female protagonists. Despite being a female-centric film with no male lead, it was still highly commercially lucrative. In 2012, Chopra said, "I think in fact Fashion kicked off... the development of female dominated films began." "You have so many other films that have received a lot of success with female leads today."

Tarun Mansukhani's romantic comedy Dostana, starring Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham, was Chopra's last film of the year. The film, which is shot in Miami, tells the story of a woman's love with two gay men who pretend to be gay to share an apartment with her. Neha Melwani, a young fashion-magazine editor who is dealing with personal challenges in her personal life, was a stylish young fashion-magazine editor who was able to cope with professional pressures. The film, which was produced by Dharma Productions, was a financial success, with worldwide sales of over 860 million (US$11 million). Chopra's role and appearance in the film were lauded. She received the Stardust Award for Actor of the Year – Female for her appearances in both Fashion and Dostana.

In 2009, Chopra played Sweety, a feisty Marathi woman in Vishal Bhardwaj's caper thriller Kaminey (co-starring Shahid Kapoor), about twin brothers and their relationship with the underworld. With the worldwide gross sales of 710 million (US$9 million), the film received critical acclaim and became a hit at the box-office. "Chopra" has completely reinvented her, according to Nikhat Kazmi of The Times of India, who sprinkles her lines with a smattering of fluent Marathi and emerges as one of the film's most lovable characters." Chopra's appearance as the best by an actress this year was praised by Raja Sen of Rediff.com. Following her Fashion and Best Actress nominations at the Filmfare, Screen, and IIFA awards, she gained several honors and accolades, including a second consecutive Producer Guild Film Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Chopra appeared in Ashutosh Gowariker's romantic comedy What Is Your Raashee? based on Madhu Rye's book Kimball Ravenswood. The film portrays the search for his soulmate among 12 girls (all played by Chopra) who are associated with the 12 zodiac signs. For her role in the film, she received a nomination for Best Actress in the Screen Award. She was considered for inclusion in the Guinness World Records book for being the first film actress to play 12 distinct characters in a single film. Chopra's heavy workload—filming for several productions, traveling for endorsements, and appearing on live shows (including the Miss India pageant) — took toll; she fainted during filming and was admitted to hospital. Chopra appeared in Jugal Hansraj's romantic comedy Pyaar Impossible in 2010. Alisha, a well-known college girl (and later a working mother) who falls in love with a socially inept man, is a popular college student (and later a working mother). In Siddharth Anjaani's romantic comedy-drama Anjaani later this year, she appeared alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The film, shot in New York and Las Vegas, follows two suicidal strangers who fell in love with each other. Critically, the film received mixed to praise from reviewers, and it was a commercial success at the box office.

In Vishal Bhardwaj's black comedy 7 Khoon Maaf, she starred as a femme fatale in her first film of 2011. 7 Khoon Maaf, an Anglo-Indian woman who murders her husbands in an ongoing search for love, is based on Susanna's Seven Husbands, written by Ruskin Bond. Critics lauded the film and her actress. Nikhat Kazmi characterized the film as "a major step in Chopra's career trajectory," boasting her "exquisite command over a complicated plot that is clearly a first in Indian cinema." Susanna was more conceit than a person, according to Rachel Saltz of the New York Times, and Chopra was "and charming as always, can't make her cohere." Chopra's appearances earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Critics) and a nomination for the Best Actress (Critics) and the Best Actress Award, the Producers Guild Film Award, and the Screen Award for Best Actress.

In the second part of the Don franchise, Chopra's last year as a Roma in the second installment of the Don franchise, Don 2. Although the film received mixed reviews, Chopra's performance received praise from critics. "Chopra... seems to be the logical choice for an action heroine," The Express Tribune reports. You may have come to the realization that she may be Bollywood's first good female action hero as you watch her addictively beating up some thugs. Don 2 was a huge success in India and overseas, grossing over $ 2.06 billion (US$26 million) worldwide.

Agneepath, Karan Malhotra's first film of 2012, was her first film of the year, in which she appeared with Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, and Rishi Kapoor. The film, directed by Karan Johar, is a recreation of his father's 1990 film of the same name. Chopra's lehenga (a traditional skirt) caught fire while filming a scene for a complex Ganpati festival song, one of several accidents during filming. In the film, she appeared as Kaali Gawde, Roshan's ardent love affair. Mayank Shekhar emphasized how Chopra stood out in the male-dominated film. Agneepath set a new record in first day earnings and reported a global gross of 1.9 billion (US$24 million). Teri Meri Kahaani co-starred in Kunal Kohli's romance, Chopra next co-starred Shahid Kapoor. The film tells the tales of three unconnected couples (each played by Kapoor and Chopra) who were born in different times.

Barfi in Anurag Basu was her last appearance of 2012. The film, which is set in the 1970s, tells the tale of three people, two of whom are physically impaired. Chopra played Jhil Chatterjee, an autistic woman who falls in love with a deaf, mute man. (Kapoor) Given how difficult it is for an actor to convincingly portray a woman with autism, director Rituparno Ghosh found it a "very brave" role to accept. Chopra went to several mental hospitals and spent time with autistic people to prepare for their role. The film received critical acclaim and was a major commercial success, grossing 1.75 billion (US$22 million) worldwide. Chopra was found to be the film's "surprise package," according to Rachit Gupta of Filmfare, who described her role as "the best representation of [autism] on Indian celluloid." Though Pratim D. Gupta of The Telegraph praised Kapoor and Chopra, the latter considered her to be a "tad showy" in her role. Chopra received Best Actress awards at the Filmfare, Screen, IIFA, and Producers Guild Film Awards. The film was selected as India's entry into the 85th Academy Awards.

Agneepath and Barfi!

To that point, it was ranked among the top-grossing Bollywood films.

In 2013, she lent her voice to Ishaani, India's reigning Pan-Asian champion and the principal protagonist of Disneytoon Studios' film Planees, a spinoff of Pixar's Cars franchise. Chopra, a Disney film buff, had fun voicing the character, saying, "Ishaani was the closest I could come to being a Disney princess." The film was a commercial success, grossing approximately US$240 million worldwide. She appeared in Apoorva Lakhia's bilingual action drama Zanjeer (Thoofan in Telugu), a remake of the 1973 Hindi film of the same name that received poor feedback from critics and was unprofitable at the box office. Chopra reprised her role Priya in Rakesh Roshan's Krrish 3, a sequel to the 2006 superhero film Krrish starring Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, and Kangana Ranaut. Chopra had little to do in the film, according to critics. "She is saddled with a sketchily written job and has been reduced to the status of a hanger-on waiting for events to unfold," Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV wrote. Chopra's biggest commercial success to date and her fourth major hit in two years made the film a huge success worldwide, earning over 3 billion (US$38 million). In the song "Ram Chahe Leela" directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, she performed a contemporary mujra.

Chopra appeared in Yash Raj Films' romantic action drama Gunday directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, alongside Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and Irrfan Khan. In Calcutta, she portrayed Nandita, a cabaret dancer. The film, set in the 1970s, tells the tale of two of their closest friends who fell in love with Nandita. Gunday was a box-office hit, with sales of over 1 billion (US$13 million) worldwide. Chopra followed him as the title character in Mary Kom, a biographical film about the five-time world boxing champion and Olympic bronze medalist Mary Koma. She spent time with Kom and received four months of boxing preparation in order to be ready for the position. Critics lauded the film's debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2014, and critical acclaim was given. Sudhish Kamath of The Hindu criticized the film's screenplay but praised Chopra's "knockout" performance, saying, "The spirited actress rises above the material and makes us invest in her, and the boxer does justice to the spirit" of the boxer. According to the Indo-Asian News Service's review, the actress was praised for expressing every facet of the character with "a pitch-perfect bravado." Mary Kompany was a commercial success, with sales of 1.04 billion (US$13 million) at the box office. She received the Screen Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, as well as another nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Chopra appeared in Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do, an ensemble comedy-drama starring Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, and Farhan Akhtar. The film tells the tale of a dysfunctional Punjabi family (the Mehras), who invites their families and friends on a cruise trip to celebrate the parents' 30th wedding anniversary. Ayesha Mehra, a wealthy entrepreneur and the eldest child, was portrayed by her. "The transition from body language to the measured speech [...] shows the level of detail she can bring to her lines and characters these days." Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express expressed concern that it was time for her "to be a little messy": all these not-a-hair-out-place roles are making her constrained." The cast of Dil Dhadakne Do won the Screen Award for Best Ensemble Cast, and Chopra was nominated for a Screen Award, IIFA Award, and the Producers Guild Film Award for Best Actress. In 2016, she dubbed for Kaa, a female python in the OTT film The Jungle Book.

Chopra signed a talent management contract with ABC Studios and was later cast in the American thriller series Quantico as the character Alex Parrish. Chopra was the first South Asian to headline an American network drama series after the series premiered on September 27, 2015. Television critics and Chopra praised the series for her role. Rob Lowman of the Los Angeles Daily News applauded her "dynamic screen presence" and James Poniewozik of The New York Times praised Chopra as the show's "best human resource," noting that she is "emotional and commanding." She was named in People's Choice Award for Favorite Actress In A New TV Series for her role in Quantico, becoming the first South Asian actress to win a People's Choice Award. Chopra received the People's Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress in the following year. In 2018, Quantico was cancelled after three seasons.

In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic historical romantic drama Bajirao Mastani, Chopra portrayed Kashibai, the first wife of Maratha general Peshwa Bajirao I. The film received largely positive feedback, and Chopra was lauded for her portrayal, which many reviewers characterized as her best show-to-date. In Rajeev Masand's Kashibai, Rajeev Masand added, "the film benefits from a touch of playfulness and humour." Chopra brings warmth to the role and practically steals the film. Despite not being in the film role, film critic Raja Sen thought Chopra owned the film, wrote "Chopra's terrific in the role, her articulate eyes, and her no-nonsense Marathi rhythm bang-on" were all in it. Bajirao Mastani's box office grossing 3.5 billion (US$44 million), one of the best-grossing Indian films of all time. She received the Producers Guild Film Award for Best Supporting Actress and Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role, as a result.

Chopra played a police officer in Prakash Jha's social drama Jai Gangaajal in 2016. Namrata Joshi, a Hindu writer, wrote "Looks off-colour, disinterested, and uninvolved with the film's happenings." It did not do well in terms of commercially, which was disappointing. Chopra made her Hollywood live-action film debut in Seth Gordon's action comedy Baywatch opposite Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in 2005. The feature has received unfavorable feedback. Chopra was the film's highlight, with IGN noting she "outshines pretty much anyone she's in a scene with" and "Chopra's engaging and intriguing and "is the only character that has any sort of distinct cadence." "Chopra has amusement as the baddie, but she remains in the background until the end of the film, and there is really just one big scene at the end of the movie," Forbes' Scott Mendelson wrote. Baywatch was not a commercial success in North America, but the film did well in overseas markets, grossing $178 million at the worldwide box office, but in the foreign markets, it was not a success. The 2018 Sundance Film Festival was the premiere of Chopra's next American film, A Kid Like Jake, a tale about gender dissimilarity starring Jim Parsons and Claire Danes. Variety's Amy Nicholson praised her "charming presence" but thought that her role added no to the film. She had registered to appear as the leading lady opposite Salman Khan in Bharat in early 2019, but she had to cancel days before filming her scenes. Nikhil Namit, a film producer, announced that she resigned due to her commitment to Nick Jonas and accused her of being "a little unprofessional."

Chopra appeared in Todd Strauss-Schulson's comedy Isn't It Romantic, which starred Rebel Wilson, in 2019. Critics loved the film, and the North American box office took home nearly $49 million. She was "fully cast," according to Entertainment Weekly's Dana Schwartz, but The Guardian's Benjamin Lee said she was "not quite interesting enough." She returned to Hindi cinema later this year with Shonali Bose's biographical drama The Sky Is Pink, in which she played mother to Aisha Chaudhary, a teen suffering from a terminal illness. She also created the project and was responsible for the tale's mixture of humour and tragedy. Kate Erbland of IndieWire found her to be "extraordinary" as "the film's driving force, a tough-talking mama bear," and Anna M. Vetticad paid attention to the "simmering patience" in her appearance. The film did not do well at the box office. She has been nominated for the Best Actress award at the Filmfare Awards again.

We Can Be Heroes, Robert Rodriguez's only film to be released in 2020, was Chopra's. Ms. Granada, the woman behind Heroics, starred. The film received largely favorable feedback, with critics referring to its "sophisticated themes with compassion and zealous originality." As the strait-laced Ms. Granada's strait-laced Ms. Granada, and Ian Freer of the Empire magazine's comment that the "kids" film acting to the hilt, Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times applauded "livening up the proceedings." Ramin Bahrani's The White Tiger, an adaptation of Aravind Adiga's satirical book of the same name, was Chopra's first film of 2021. Pinky Madam appeared in Adarsh Gourav and Rajkummar Rao's role, as well as executive producer of this Netflix film. Critical comments about the film and her performance were encouraging. Kevin Maher, a film critic, praised Chopra's work as "impressive," while The Hollywood Reporter's David Rooney praised her actress for her "emotional depth" to her role. At the 93rd Academy Awards, the film received a Best Adapted Screenplay Award. She appeared in The Matrix Resurrections, a science fiction film from last year.

Chopra will lead the romantic drama It's All Coming Back To Me opposite Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. In Barry Levinson's Sheela, a film she will produce for Amazon Studios, she will star alongside Richard Madden in Amazon Prime Video's thriller series Citadel and as the spiritual guru Ma Anand Sheela. Chopra has agreed to appear in a comedy about an Indian-American wedding under Universal Pictures, and he will portray lawyer Vanita Gupta in Seth Gordan's courtroom drama Tulia, based on the 1999 racial injustice trial in the city of the same name. She is expected to be in the action film Cowboy Ninja Viking opposite Chris Pratt. She is also scheduled to appear in Farhan Akhtar's directorial Jee Le Zaraa, alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, which is expected to debut in 2023. Chopra is co-starring in Anthony Mackie's action film Ending Things, directed by Kevin Sullivan. In addition, she is set to star and produce the adaptation of Shilpi Somaya Gowda's "Secret Daughter," which will also be performed by Sienna Miller for Amazon Studios. Under her production company, she's been making over a dozen regional films in various languages. She signed a multimillion-dollar first-look TV contract with Amazon Prime Video and also ViacomCBS to support video by the first time BIPOC filmmakers and women directors.

Music career

Chopra's greatest vocal influence was her father, who aided in her discovery of singing. She began singing earlier in her pageantry career. Vijay's debut album, "Ullai Killathe," in the Tamil film Thamizhan (2002), was made at her request and co-star, Stephen Asher (who had noticed her singing on the set). In her film Karam (2005), she declined to perform in "Tinka Tinka" but later performed the song live on the television show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Chopra sang the song for the first time on Bluffmaster. (2005). Universal Music Group signed Chopra to a worldwide recording contract with DesiHits in August 2011. Interscope Records in North America and Island Records elsewhere announced that her first studio album would be released by Interscope Records in North America and elsewhere.

Chopra became the first Bollywood celebrity to be signed by Creative Artists Agency, an entertainment and sports firm headquartered in Los Angeles, in July 2012. RedOne produced the album. "In My City" was her first single on television in the United States on September 13, 2012, in a TV spot for the NFL Network's Thursday Night Football; a shorter version of the song was used to open each show of the season. Will.am, a rapper who grew up in My City, will inspire the song, according to Chopra, a co-writer, as she went from a small town girl to a celebrity. Critically, the album was a commercial success in India; it sold more than 130,000 copies in its first week, led the Hindi pop chart, and was named triple platinum. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the single in the United States was unsuccessful, with 5,000 digital downloads in its first week, and did not receive radio play. The single received the People's Choice Awards India's Best International Debut award in October 2012. At the World Music Awards in December 2012, she received three awards: Best Female Artist, Best Song, and Best Video (for "In My City"). Chopra appeared on "Erase," an EDM track from the American DJ and producer duo The Chainsmokers.

Chopra's second single "Exotic" starring American rapper Pitbull was released in July 2013 as well as its music video. On the Dance/Electronic Songs chart, "Exotic" debuted at number 16 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart and number 11 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart, and number 11 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart. The single also ranked at number 74 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart, ranking it at number 74. The Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart debuts at number 44, peaking at number 12. In April 2014, Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" was her third single, a recreation of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me." The album debuted at number 28 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, peaking at number 28.

"Chaoro," Chopra's first song as a playback singer in Bollywood, was "Chaoro," a lullaby from Mary Kom (2014). Dil Dhadakne Do performed the title song, a duet with Farhan Akhtar, in 2015. "Baba" was her first attempt at Ventilator in 2016, making her Marathi language debut. Chopra coproduced "Young and Free," an EDM song that she also wrote in 2017.
