Early life

His father is Dutch and his mother is Mexican, and he was raised mainly in the United Kingdom. Both English and Spanish are spoken fluently. He has one older brother.


Peter Gadiot Career


Peter Gadiot trained classically at Drama Centre London and has appeared in numerous stage performances. His previous films include MTV's Hot Mess, British television's My Spy Family (2010), and a British horror film 13Hrs (2010), also known as Night Wolf.

In ABC's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Gadiot made his American network debut as Cyrus, the handsome and mysterious Genie. Gadiot appeared in Prada's short film, directed by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola, in the same year. He appeared in three episodes of the British show Fresh Meat, a Channel 4 dramedy with a large following. And appeared in the German horror film The Forbidden Girl (2013).

Gadiot spent time behind the camera to write, produce, and direct the short film 12–17, which was released in 2014. The short film is about young men who deceive younger girls into falling in love with them before psychologically blackmailing them into prostitutes (loverboys). The short film is titled 12–17 because this is the age of the majority of girls who are trafficked.

In addition, Gadiot appeared in the series Matador again in 2014, as well as the role of Ka in the Canadian-American miniseries Tut (2015).

Gadiot returned to theater in 2016 and appeared as Petruchio in William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew at the Harman Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Peter Gadiot appeared as James Valdez in the crime drama series Queen of the South, which was produced for USA Network and an adaptation of Arturo Perez-Reverte's best-selling book La Reina del Survive. Gadiot received the 2017 Imagen Award for Best Supporting Actor – Television for his appearance of James Valdez in USA Networks Queen of the South. On USA Network in 2021, the fifth and final season of Queen of the South was shown.

Gadiot played Mister Mxyzptlk in CBS's Supergirl in the second season (2017), in addition to his appearance in Queen of the South. And Gadiot appeared in the Rock 'n Roll miniseries All You Need Is Me (2018), which is available on Studio+ and Canalplus. Gadiot was the lead guitarist Stephen.
