Konidela Kalyan, better known by his stage name Pawan Kalyan, is an Indian film actor, producer, screenwriter, essayist, and politician.

His film works are mainly in Telugu cinema.

He is Chiranjeevi's youngest brother.

In the 1996 Telugu film Akkada Abbayi, Pawan Kalyan made his acting debut.

He appeared in Tholi Prema, which received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu this year. He is best known for his roles in Gokulamlo Seetha, Suswagatam, Tholi Prema, Badri, Badri, Kushi, Jalsa, and Gabbar Singh, which became one of the top grossing Telugu films of all time.

Early life and family

In Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, Konidela Kalyan Babu was born on September 2nd, 1971 to Konidela Venkata Rao and Anjana Devi. He is Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu's younger brother. After a martial arts performance he planned to display his training, he began using the term "Pawan." In karate, he has a black belt. He is also the uncle of actors Ram Charan, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, and Allu Arjun.

Personal life

Kalyan married Nandini in 1997, just one year after his film debut. Kalyan began acting in a live-in relationship with his co-star Renu Desai and their son Akira Nandan, which was born in 2004. Nandini was charged in June 2007 with a bigamy lawsuit on Kalyan, claiming that he divorced her without divorcing her. Kalyan responded by saying he had not married Desai, but that a magistrate court in Visakhapatnam had dismissed him of the charge due to a lack of evidence. Kalyan's divorce at a family court in Visakhapatnam in July 2007 allege that Nandini deserted him immediately after their marriage, which was denied by her counsel. Their divorce was legalized in August 2008 with an alimony of 5 crore paid by Kalyan as a one-time settlement.

After eight years of live-in companionship, Kalyan married Desai in 2009. In 2010, they had their daughter Aadya. In 2012, the couple broke away informally with a formal divorce. In an interview in 2018, Desai said that Kalyan "insisted on a divorce even though she had been on protests." Kalyan denied her offer of making a public announcement about their divorce, according to her.

Acting career

Kalyan made his acting debut in 1996 with Akkada Abbayi. Gokulamlo Seeta's second film was released the following year. He appeared in Tholi Prema (1999), which received the National Award and six Nandi Awards that year. Kalyan appeared in Thammudu after Tholi Prema, playing the role of a kick boxer. P. A. A. Prasad wrote and directed Thammudu on July 15, 1999, and it was published and directed by P. A. Arun Prasad. He appeared in Badri, Puri Jagannadh's first directorial venture. T. Trivikrama Rao's production was combined with Ramana Gogula's music.

He appeared in the film Kushi in 2001. S. J. Suryah directed the film, which became a major blockbuster of the year. Political career

Kalyan began his political career in 2008 as the president of Yuvarajyam, the Praja Rajyam Party's youth arm, which was started by his elder brother Chiranjeevi. During his days in Praja Rajyam Parts, he neither ran in nor did he hold any political office. Even though he actively campaigned for the party, he was still suffering from no health problems. During a roadshow in Vizag on 19 April 2009, Kalyan was struck by bouts of vomiting after being struck by a sunstroke. Kalyan took a break from political life in 2011, declaring his dissatisfaction with his brother's joining the group and forming a new political party named Jana Sena Party in 2014.

At a Rajahmundry public meeting with several steps to enhance the lives of farmers, farm labourers, women, youth, and students, Kalyan declared the Jana Sena party's 2019 election manifesto. In the forthcoming 2019 elections in both Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, his party will compete alongside left parties Communist Party of India (Marxist), Bahujan Samaj Party (Marxist), and Bahujan Samaj Party.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, the Jana Sena Party has contested 140 constituencies. Two constituencies, Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram, have been contested by Kalyan. He has lost in both directions to candidates from the YSR Congress Party. Razole won, making it the only seat it had won in the poll.

On the third day of the year, Kalyan led a long march in Visakhapatnam in favor of construction workers against the YSR Congress Party's government, who have been suffering unemployment in Andhra Pradesh due to a sand shortage.

After three years of denying his party's exile from it, Kalyan declared his party's alliance with the BJP on January 16, 2020.
